What's weakest performance thing about 350Z?

It's not really a performance issue for me.....but those damn seat warmer buttons right at my elbow area on the centr console pisses me off. Sometimes I'll be driving 'n my **** is gettin' warm cause I accidently turn on the seat warmer. I wish they moved it up forward like they did in the '06. Man I should've waited a few more months.....but I love me '05 Touring

350Z and other cars/SUVs based on the FR-L/FM: this is Front-engine, Rear-drive, Large and Front Mid-ship platform. 350Z is a monocoque chassis/unibody, that means each model is a different chassis and need not share. There are many adjustments/changes that can be made in a platform to adapt to a new model such as wheelbase, width, length, stiffness etc.
So please measure your words before you say.

I think if you don't track it, the tires are the weak link. If you track it, tires, wheels, and brakes are an issue. If you want better engine performance, the 287hp engine's rods are an issue. I'm totally pissed that I have to pull the engine to replace $200 rod bolts to safely rev pass 7200rpm.

The only bad thing about the stock brakes are all the brake dust, but that can easly be fixed, but they do work well. Any car would be more fun lighter, but with the platform of the 350 a turbo or surpercharger would make it nasty.

I swear, if I read another post equating brake size with stopping distances, I'm going to explode. Read about thermal capacity, repeatability, etc, then we'll talk. If you're talking about your stock brakes performing below your expectations (in vernacular, or essentially the lowly commoner's blanket statement, "dA bRAkeS SuCk, y0!") and you don't track your car, you have absolutely no claim to your statement.
With that said, I feel that the weakest link is DOT3 brake fluid, even w/ the Brembos. The OE tires are fine--they hold up better than Pilot Sports do under continued hard driving. Driving through standing water though with the OE Potenza RE040s, I will concede that the tires suffer from inadequate water evacuation.

I heard that Nissan is looking at a supper lite version of the 350z. All aluminum body, racing seats, no AC, Radio, ultra light glass, Titainium breaks, and more. Hold up seems to be cost/price. They are not sure they can get 60k plus for it. What do you think. Will enthusiests buy it? Send note to NNA.

They should've just put in Pauter rods in your car to start with... I would've gladly paid Nissan $1200 to put those into a stock motor. Heck every company that builds a sports car should do that.

Weight... I almost rear-ended a van coming down from a high freeway flyover to a stop light. If I had worn brake pads, I would of eaten that taillights. And maybe because I have 19s, but it definitely changed how I am going to drive that way next time. Overall, its not a complaint.

I like the weight; makes the car feel real stable at speed +++++.
Further a lot of the weight is in providing a strong cage around the driver. From the number of threads I've seen here about guys crashing & walking away, it looks to me like the weight was "well spent".
