Default Whos warranty is going to/has expired?

Mine is expiring in about 30 days. Just took the car in today to get all of the TSB issues resolved on the Dealers dime. What are everyones plans for "when you are on your own"?

My plan is to set aside money each month for routine maintenance, repairs and mods.

Mine just went out...luckily the dealer goodwill'd some TSBs for me. Luckily the powertrain warranty is intact. I suspect the suspension and/or electrical stuff will bring lots of headaches in years to come though. Oh well...I'm just gonna enjoy the ride.

I tied my warranty down and shot it in the face with a single barrelled turbo...not much left on my car that's under warranty. Only have about 16 months left on the 3 year powertrain warranty anyway.

I'm moving to Hawaii in January, and my warranty will be voided because Hawaii is not considered part of "Nissan North America". So, whatever breaks gets replaced with better aftermarket parts.

Same I have been doing. I fix the stuff myself. I can't stand anyone touching my car unless I do not have the tools or equipment to do it myself. I find they screw up more stuff than they fix in most cases. That may just be my dumb luck. Who knows?

who told you this? I seriously doubt that nissan would deny warranty coverage b/c you bought your Z in the mainland and brought it to hawaii. in fact I doubt that they can even legally deny you coverage since your still in the "U.S.". I could possibly see if you took your Z to a different country, but not to hawaii.

My warranty expired about 6 weeks ago when I passed 36k miles. I made a point of having the seat fraying TSB done before that happened, but other than that, there wasn't much to be done. Other than the seats and some minor tire feathering, I really haven't had any huge problems with my Z. I do get the grease streaks on the windows once in a while, but I decided not to have that one done. Based on everything I've read about the grease streak fix, the cure is worse than the disease....I'd rather just bust out the windex and clean the windows (which I already did pretty regularly anyway) than have my door panels get all f'd up from the streak fix.

The drivetrain warranty covers everything from the motor to (and including) the drive axles. So any decent dealer should fix it.

Nissan's customer service told me. Don't get me wrong, if something breaks I'll take it to the dealerships there and try to get them to feel sorry for me and fix it. But, if they deny it, guess I'm stuck. Hawaii isn't considered "Nissan North America", it's part of "Nissan Pacific" or something like that.

Yeah...you caught me....I always forget that the powertrain warranty is 60 months. I guess I forget because I don't have a power train warranty anymore and the car is not even two years old.

my factory bumper to bumper is up, I just bought the car in may and got an extended warranty 60k or 5 years from purchase. its hard to say if they are worth it or not, but I figured since the warranty was ending I should do it, but I didnt know about the powertrain warranty when I bought it.

I'd say it's goddamn worth it for being involved in such a unique and kickass hobby... wouldn't you?

Mine's up in 9 days. It's been relatively problem free but it's only got 5500 miles.

I let mine go for a while, so the fraying was pretty prominent by the time I went in for the TSB (I probably had about 34-35k on the car at the time, but it was also fraying noticeably at 22k). If you look up the TSB, you'll see a photographed example of what the fraying looks like. Unfortunately, I had to be a little "firm" with the dealership to get them to do it. When I first asked them about it, they gave me some ridiculous story about how it only covers the inserts, not the side bolsters. It wasn't until I shoved the TSB in their face and called BS that they agreed to do it.

If it were me, I'd definitely hit them up for the TSB...if there's a known TSB out there, it's worth bringing it in for.
