Default Need advise on break-in

My what seems like forever wait on my new 2006 350Z is finally over. Im going to the dealership to pick it up tomorrow. I have a 565 mile drive to get it home. I have the manual and it only says that for the first 1200 miles to avoid driving for long periods at constant speed either fast or slow. And to not run the engine over 4000 rpm.
Now i have about an 8.5 hour drive of 565 miles straight Interstate driving.
Is there a top speed i should not go over? I was thinkin drive it 65 mph for like 30 minutes then drop down to maybe 45-50 for another 30 minutes, back and forth between those speeds. And also stopping every couple of hours to let the car sit and cool down. And I'm thinking after 4 hours of driving at midway point to stop and get a motel room and spend the night then finish the last 4 hours of driving at the same intervals.
Does this sound good? What do u guys think and recommend? I do not want to harm the car, trying to be safe during the breakin period.

Wow, you are such a good owner, in my next lifetime can I be your car. lol j/k. In my opinion I don’t see a problem with driving the car straight to your destination. I just would not go past 4000rpm like you said and just go the speed limit, I don’t see a problem with that, but I might be wrong.

What a thrill! You might want to wash and wax it along the way.

Congratulations, and I’m just as excited as you are. 565 miles sounds like a pain but...

Top speed doesn't matter. Varying the RPM does. Your 30 minute plan sounds good, but what you might do is drive in fifth for 30 minutes, then drive in sixth for 30 minutes (that will vary the RPM). No need to slow to 45 mph.

Stopping periodically to cool the car is unnecessary. In fact, the cooling system is more efficient at 3,000 RPM than it is parked.

The 350Z engine is about bullet proof. Enjoy the long cruise. You and the car will be fine.

It would just talk to the people at the Nissan dealership before you drive it off the lot. They can give you the most accurate information.

In fact, 4,000 RPM in sixth gear is 120 MPH plus isn't it.? That should be plenty fast.

if you want to be on the "safe" side, just keep it under 4k rpm's, the speed doesnt matter so long as you dont trump 4k rpm's.

nice purchase btw!!!

I agree with davidv. Below 4000 RPMs & vary speed. You won't have to get down to 45 mph unless you just want to.

You could drive straight thru w/o a problem but nothing wrong with an overnight.

Enjoy the new ride!
