That was on the '05s.

04's got the heated mirrors, 05's got the standard tire pressure monitoring system, if I read Nissan's news release site correctly. My friend's Base 04 had heated mirrors, my 03 Track did not.

Pretty sure my 04 doesn't have heated mirrors. There is no switch for them at least.
Dumb question but I bought used. How do I know if I have a 04 or 04.5?? Is there any way to tell, or does anyone know the VIN cutoff?

Sunset ,

From another 2003 owner who has had only window streaks and one tinny sounding left front speaker and no other problems , like the gas cap , spray some WD40 on the hinges of the NAV door and it will work like a charm forever ( only had to do it once along time ago ) .Also never got the feathering because first thing I did was on my 2003 preorder was to get the alignment checked and kept aligned , and I have never , ever had any tire feathering . I knew it was the alignment from the start and when I was the USA Correspondent for 350zuk.com told them exactly that and many Brits there were also able to prevent this .
BTW , never had any issues with porpoising either .Extra outlet up front would have helped though !

Interesting, I don't think you are wrong and I did not know they changed the suspension.

I had an 03 which got stolen and I replaced it with an 05.

I thought it was my imagination but the new car just did not feel quite as 'sure footed' when I really pushed it around the back country road curves.

Same curves that I know like the back of my hand - different cars.

Maybe it was NOT my imagination then.

I just checked both the 04 and 05 sales brochures. In 04, only the touring had heated mirrors. The 05 book lists heated mirrors as standard on all models. From what I recall, you can retrofit the 04s with the heated mirrors. There is no separate switch for the side mirrors, the same switch for the rear defroster also turns on the side heaters.

Thats how I picked it up. A few 03 owners test drove the 05s and all reported that it doesn't handle as well. I haven't found any facts (track testings) to prove it one way or the other but its an interesting idea indeed.

Real quick without highjacking this thread, how was your Z stolen? I started a thread a while back about stolen Zs and I really didn't anyone who had their Z stolen. Please post your response in the linked thread:https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/133413-stolen-350s.html
