I have only been able to find 92 and one station that sells 101 octane race fuel. I was wondering if there are any websites that let you search for premium fuel octane.
I don't know of any websites, but is that one point of octane worth driving an extra say 30 miles for? Just buy some torco and throw that in there every so often if you desire a higher octane. Unless you're knocking that bad, I don't think it would be worth the 93 or the octane booster. FI is what needs the higher octane without a doubt!
You can come up to WI, we sell 93 here!
I also wouldn't run higher octane if you don't really need to, you'll rape your O2 sensors.
Just food for thought. 1 octane level higher and an extra $10 per fill-up to drive to get it, or just stick with the 92 and save your money.

Having a FI car, 92 and 93 aren't that big. It's when you go from 93/92 to 89. That will not be the best for you.. it'll end up causing KR. If you wanna go to the track, throw some Torco in the tank and you'll get yourself a higher octane. Obviously don't throw it in on a full tank as that would negate the purpose.
BTW, supercharged or turbocharged? I'm thinking supercharged would be better in some ways for a road course just for the power on demand, but a turbo isn't going to create as much heat but will take time to spool.

Fellas...premium is premium wherever you get it. It is the same thing. The octane calculation formula is the SAME no matter where u live. Altitude changes the variables involved and the same gas will test at 93 in Chicago and 91 here in Denver.
I made a detailed post about that some months ago with a very informative link in it that explains all this. I think it was from Chevron.

KR = Knock Retard - Retards timing, thus creating less horsepower. KR is very BAD! Too much and you'll pop your motor.

Re. where to find 101 octane in the Kansas City area, look at koolzero's recent post on our club's website www.hazcc.com.
