Question Bose/VIn # question...

I do not know how to determine my car's build date from looking at my VIN. The manager of the service dept. at my dealership said that the Bose Service Bulletin was not applicable to me because my car was built on October 10th. (Anything after Sep. 27th). Please let me know how to double check this by looking at the VIN.

I just got my touring and the bass/Bose sounds pretty bad so that's why I want to verify this.

Thanks

I believe the sticker inside the drivers door frame has the build month & year.. What is your VIN number?? I believe higher than 5200 have the newer amp..

you can easily tell. if your sitting there, turn your stereo to like 2 or 3, so theres barely any noise at all. in about 5 seconds you should hear the bass come up.

if you do, then your amp is the old bad kind. if it doesnt, then its time to lower your expectations, cause this is what your gettin. I have the new amp, and altho I could go for a little more bass <20 anything above 20 sounds way better than my last "upgraded" infinity stereo in my dodge ram.

Thanks for the input even though no one has said yet how to really interpret a VIN #.

I just sold my 2001 Firebird that had a ten thousand dollar system in it so I am spoiled to begin with when it comes to quality speakers. But, I will be happy with the Bose--I just wanted to make sure that I was getting everything my 36,414 paid for.

The last 6 numbers tell you whether you need the Bose fix.

Theses are the vehicles affected....

Vehicles built before: JN1ZA34E83T005616 or
Vehicles built before: JN1ZA34D63T104720
Applied Date: Vehicles built before: September 27, 2002

Your vehicle 107150 > 104720..... so you are not affected.
