Default Real life performance Difference between 06 and previous

New 350Z has more power and less torque. I believe the 0-60 is 0.1 second quicker on the new one (or GT4 version which has the same engine) but has anybody seen any in gear performance figures, eg 50-70mph?

This doesn't mean jack, but I ran both the 287 and 30th with 300 hp Z's in Gran Turismo 4 (1/4 mile). The 287 version is noticably quicker, although I don't remember the times.

Some people swear GT4 is very precise in their simulations, and I have nothing to dispute that claim.

Try it!

Otherwise we need to schedule a real life stock vs stock showdown

I've seen a stock versus stock showdown on one of the Best Motoring DVDs and at the track, the 300 HP engine is just barely quicker, like maybe a second or two after 3-5 laps. So, it's really a driver's race regardless of what engine.

There was an article online somewhere, comparing GT4 times to actual track times. They had the same guys drive the car on the track and then in the game. They said basically what it came down to was that you were always going to have a slower "less perfect" time in real-life where the game doesn't restart when you crash :-)

Obviously no one really knows because no one has lined a 03 vs 06 (same trim level) up head to head and went at it. Sounds like something that needs to be done to forever put this to rest. I have a stock 03 Enthusiast. Anyone have a stock 06 Enthusiast? I will be at the Dragons Tail run on May 19-20. We can find someplace to put them through thier paces. Well that is if I don't decide to mod some before then. But I have a 75,000 extended warrantee so I may not do that.

287hp engine has higher torque > you think it's faster
overall it doesn't matter that much.

Yes, but the rev-up has a better power curve.

The REAL test should be an 05 track against an 03 track.
