Never buy something expensive from overseas unless you are certain it is a legit company with a history of good business.

General Thumb Rules for buiyng used cars:
1. If the price is SOFA KING CHEAP, it's a good indicator it's a scam.
2. If the person lives out of the country, it's a good indicator its a scam.
3. If the person requests a down payment, it's a good indicator its a scam. Of course, there might be a special exception to this rule for cars that are rare (and the price will reflect that rarity), but if it violates rule #1, than it's a scam.

If you are somehow in denial of the 3 general rules above (You know who you are wishing for that killer deal), you can do the following to convince that the car exist (or rather it doesn't exist, but I have to play with your psychological needs before "acceptance" kicks in).

1. See the car in person. If you can't see it, it doesn't exist.
2. No e-mail deals, you want a live person to talk to. No live person to talk to, the car doesn't exist.
3. Test drive the car, my personal favorite! If you can't do a donut you bought a lemon, J/K. Seriously, I would ask a valid reason why you can't test drive. If you get a strange answer and feels wishy washy, it's probably not the sellers car.
4. When I buy a used car, I have the person pick me-up to take me to the local DMV to get the car register/titled to my name. Than I hand him a cashiers check. Of course, there is lots of different ways you can buy and register the used car.

Killer deal and steals do exists for used cars, if they can pass all the rules stated above, than condsider yourself lucky in getting a killer deal.
