the thing is, if you bought and auto your going to have to put up with the "badgering". Most people know autos do not belong in sports cars. I cringe everytime i see a porsche with an auto and i usually point out the stupidity of it to the owner.

Hey, EdgeOfSanity. I'll road race you, I'll drag race you, I'll even oval race you. I'll win every race against you. Not because of the mechanical differences between our cars. I'll win based on the comments you left here on this thread, I don't think you're intelligent enough to drive any car (AT or MT) again based on your comments. I did not want to lower myself and get involved with this thread. But people like you bring out the worst in me and I apologize to everyone else. So get over yourself ! Remember, this is my opinion and I'm entitled to it just like you. I said what I had to say and will not respond to any more replies to this particular thread. Have a nice day!

hmmmm... not sure about that one. the more advanced hybrids perform 100%
better than MT any day of the week. simply b/c while you manually operating
your clutch drivelogic has already selected their gear. unless you are going to
tell me you can shift gears faster than 80 milliseconds as with SMG?

SMG is neither auto nor manual outright. but it will outright rape your 6MT.

if you are like most people who brag about driving an MT...... their skill level is
novice at best when it comes to operating the clutch and moving through the
gears. which means you would probably get raped with a straight AT anyway.

btw unless you have driven a porsche MT and AT I'm not so sure how you can
point anything out. why would a Porsche owner who spent 2-4x as much on a
sports car that would rape your Z with or without a clutch care about what u
have to say anyway? either way the joke is on you.

smg transmissions are NOT automatics.

So EdgeofSanity, you have a popcharger, plenum and DR's. I bet simply because of the fact you drive a 6MT you can't even beat my stock time on stock tires.....

So what's up? Talk some ****...then back it up.

i dont have dr's and i cant and wont beat your stock time. Its not like it took any skill to get those times. Automatics are good at drag racing, everyone knows that. Its a sin to get a sports car with an automatic and i would absolutly hate to have to drive one on a road course.

sure you have. and sure you don't. you made the comment that Porsche owners
with tiptronic made a stupid choice. so i would expect the same goes for Ferrari,
Aston Martin and the rest of the lame bunch offered with hybrids instead of old
school foot clutch?

if you haven't noticed old school manuals are on the way out. every sports
car manufacturer and every manufacturer for that matter has either already
moved has begun to move to more advanced systems that have a computer
controlled clutch. because manually operated clutch systems are far inferior
to computer controlled clutch systems when done properly.

so cringe all you want. not too long from now the only place you will find an
old school manual is on eBay.

btw. if a hybrid can shift faster than an MT. I would say the MT is the one that
butchering and limiting the true potential of the car.

why is that everyone thinks i dont like smg trannies? I love them, i think thats what every sports car should come with in the near future. However i do hate transmissions that use a torque converter. And you will never see manual transmissions cease to exist in your lifetime.

i dont understand why everyone is trying to flame edge because of his opinion - he can have it - its his after all.

and i also dont understand why people are trying to throw faster trap times of autos over 6spds in his face, and why people are comparing vastly superior cars and transmissions to that of the 6spd z...

did anyone stop to think, that maybe edge's point doesnt have anything to do with speed... but everything to do with experience...

...maybe its a 6spd fan thing...

I think the issue is that most people are "conditioned" to believe that TRUE Sports Cars (2 doors and 2 seats...Mid-Engine or Front Engine) are SUPPOSED to be driven with a 5 or 6 speed Manual.

But then...WHY do SOOO many Corvette owners drive Auto?? Is it MORE acceptable in a Vette vs a Z?? You wouldn't think so...

Hey Edge I got ya back bro....these 5at girls are having their period....The fact is that a straight automatic does not a true sportscar make....Thats why its been documented for infinity and beyond that Manuals are usually half a second and a few mph faster than the automatic version of the same car.....Deal with it...Everyone doesnt want to hear the truth because it hurts their whittle feelings....

Little did Jack Nicholson know he was uttering the motto of the next generation when he said: "The Truth? YOU can handle the truth"....Notice how mag drivers always pan the auto version of a car and pine away for the mfg of said car to come out with a manual version?....Case in point all the high horse Benz models....Its a constant gripe with them eventhough the auto in those Benzes get the power down....And thats in a luxury car much less a true sportscar like the Z.....

If you bought an auto Z no need to hang your head in shame in public...Walk tall and proud. Wave your rainbow flag high...But when you get home you better get on your knees ask God for forgiveness for the grave sin you have commited....Just think...Even the smiley knows stick is the shyte..

so many vette owners drive autos because they are not performance enthusiasts. Most of them are older guys who probably wanted a vette when they were young but couldnt afford it. 2nd reason alot of them are autos is autos are almost always superior at the dragstrip. The people who buy the manuals understand the essence of a sports car. There is nothing more satisfying than running through the gears in a manual.
