My temperature gauge seems to reach normal operating temperature faster than most cars I've driven. A couple of blocks up the street from a cold start with the weather in the 50's and its already reading in the middle of the gauge. I don't want to push an engine that is not fully warmed up. Is this normal or do I have a gauge that a little too quick to announce that everyting is warmed up and ready to run?
Mine does the same- I usually watch the oil pressure gauge until it settles into normal operating range which is usually a few minutes after the temp gauge has settled.

mine also gets warm very quickly......i can tel when my car has reached optimal temp by the transmission. the throw of the stick is different when she's ready to be driven hard
