Please give me your opinion....
I currently drive a 90 NA 300zx with over 120k. I have had the car for 2 years and I love it. But there is something that draws me to the 350z. I like the look and the possibilities of mods that it currently has, and the price tag for everything is not too bad either.

I take into comparison alot and I am only left with more questions

my 300 is unique, TT the car is a possibility if I keep it. But the look and the style are dated to a point.

the 350 has great lines that remind me alot of the old 240, it has more power, but its every where, its the in thing to have.

I am drawn, if you ask a 300zx forum about this matter. There is alot of dismay about the whole thing. They are not ready to accept the 350, but when all the differences are said and done they are both still Z cars.

 

Keep the 300ZX.

Get the 350Z anyway.

I disagree with the part about the 300ZX being "dated". It is timeless. Beautiful. Still, after all these years, that car brings a tear to my eye. The cockpit has a tighter "fighter plane" feel, perhaps more so than the Z33.

You'll enjoy both as they each have its own personality but belong to the same lineage.

 

Is cost a factor in this? Most ppl i know who have the ZX give me thumbs up or have an envious attitude. +1 ^ get a 350 and keep the 300 as daily.

Stay focused. Keep the 300ZX and get a 350Z.

 

If I could afford a 300ZX, I would get one in addition to my new 350Z. I loved that car when it came out, and swore at age 11 or 12 that I would eventually get one.


Now I have the 350Z at age 26.

 

right now its not very economically sound to have two nice sports cars and have little money to do anything to them. Especially the 300, its 16 years old, its does not necessarily need mods but there is always something to fix, replace, or upgrade. And despite it being used, parts are not cheap for a former $40,000+ car.

 

Keep it and get the 350Z, an NA will not get you too much money, it is worth more to you as a car than the cash you can get for it.

Looking back, I wish I'd never sold my '94 300ZX. Loved that car. I later found out that the guy I sold it to completely destroyed it a few months later in a ridiculous accident. Pissed me off...

Damn, it happened to me too. I had a highly modded 300ZX that I sold to someone in TN. He didn't come back to get the title for a few months. When his brother came to get the title he told me that the guy lost control of it on some ice and trashed it and that is why he needed the title right then. Why would anyone take over 500rwhp out on some ice?

 

The 90-96 300zx is one of the top 10 or 15 best looking sports cars of all time in my opinion. About two years back I saw a new 1996 black 300xz TT on ebay that had been in a dealer's showroom, never sold so was being sold as a new car. Had less than 1000 miles on it. I debated buying it instead of my Maxima, now I kick myself everytime I see a black 300zx with the tan leather interior.

Eventually, I will have another one in addition to my 350z. So my advice is to keep the 300zx, no matter what.

 

I agree keep the 300zx you won't be able to get much for it if you sold it anyway and get the 350Z.

 

keep the 300 and wait 4 years for the next Z...i'm sure it'll be even better than the 350, if that's possible

 

I'm another one that admired the 300ZX out of any other mass produced cars when I was in high school. I told myself that one day I would get a good job and buy that car. I was still staring at 300ZX's in 2002.

Then the 350Z came out. I finished school and am doing pretty good. I could either get a $20,000CDN 300ZX or I could get a $34,000CDN 350Z. I choose the 350Z because I had that butterfly feeling in my stomach like when I was in highschool again. The 300ZX will stay timeless as in it was the first car I really admired(I wasn't into cars and never looked at the exotics, just cars that were on the streets), but the 350Z has replaced the 300ZX IMO. I have no regrets with my decision.

 

Keep the 300z, its not worth jack anymore on the open market. It is definitely worth way more to you. Plus, it shouldn't really effect your ability to afford the 350z since its not worth much.


I had a 1990 N/A 300zx (parents wouldn't pay for TT insurance) when I was younger. I loved it, but black Ice killed it.

Just a piece of information... The October 2004 issue of Automobile magazine rated the 300zx TT one of the "100 Coolest Cars." They said "Our faith in Nissan's ability to move us was restored when it replaced the fat, unhappy 1983 era 300ZX with this sleek, screaming rocket of a Z-Car. It sounded great, looked cool, and performed without reservation." It was rated the 99th coolest car, but hey... its still within the top 100. I had a 93TT and if I had to pick one or the other I would take a 300ZXTT over the 350, but I love my 350Z also. Its just missing the t-tops and twin turbo's, thats what I loved so much about the TT!

 

Have both!! and in two years get the GT-R!!

Can you just TT the stock NA or do you have to build up the engine... I always assumed the stock NA wasn't as strong as the stock TT; is that correct?
