Hmm ok so I guess it really doesn't affect 1/4 mile times.

no but your cornering and overall handeling inside exit cornering will be affected. Also i have light up vanity mirrors and i have a base. So ????????also the nismo lsd is not noisey from my understanding , ..kaaz i heard has some chatter , but overall i have seen nismo lsd installed and run and heard no noise whats so ever. The base willl support better time in the 1/4 due to the weight but , let me tell, you the LSD is key. WHen i launch, even with the Zs stock tq level i end up going sideways until the open diff hits in. then i t jumps. But i have driven the stock Vlsd, and though its an improvement over the open diff, its still does not perform no where near the nismo one , etc. Drive a nismo Z around a corner then drive a VLSD equppied or try to drift at all with a VLSD. Not really track oriented. I myself will prob get the nismo one. But trust do not think the VLSD is optimized at all for racing or tracking purposes. But i must admit it is an imporvent over the open diff obviously.

My apologies for being blunt, but you are correct. Acceleration from a dead stop is not a primary attribute of limited slip differential (LSD): that was a concern in days of old when manufactures offered “pos-a-traction” option for muscle cars. In a turn, the rear tires spin at different RPM: the outside tire faster than the inside. As f-dub mentioned, LSD helps distribute torque from the tire without traction to the one with traction.

Forget about retrofitting cruise control into a base.

LOL it doesn't have light up vanity mirrors...
Honestly, those are 3 options that I couldn't give a **** about.

I'm quite happy with my Base model. IMHO, 95% of the options are either aesthetically unpleasant (splash guards), not worth the extra money (HID), not something I'd want even if it didn't cost extra (automatic transmission), and/or not something that I'm stupid enough to ever need (navigation).

I might get an aftermarket LSD and 18" or 19" rims at some point, but I can do better than OEM with those.
