Default Grinding noise when powershifting to 2nd! (goes in gear just fine tho) Need input

Almost EVERY time I power shift into second I get a gear grinding noise but the car still goes in gear and doesn’t resist at all. I use to think I am just hitting the clutch at the wrong time, but in other cars (s2000, New Mustang) I don’t have this problem at all. Also this doesn’t happen in ANY other gears, what could be the cause of this?

I bought my car used and it had AEM CAI and Nismo exhaust on it, and I am starting to believe there is a lightweight flywheel on the car b/c I get the cement mixer noise when Idol, and it goes away when I engage the clutch. Its not very loud so I didn’t think much of it but after reading about the flywheels I think it mite be aftermarket.

Also (sorry for all the questions) when ever the car is cold it is GARUNTEED to grind trying to go into 3rd unless I put it in neutral for a second then go to 3rd. It even does it some times when the car is warm, but never does it when flooring it. Anyways TIA for any help

PS. My car is under warranty (purchased 7 year 75k mile bumper to bumper warranty from the dealership I got it from)

sounds like your syncros could be bad, i would definatly have a dealer check it out you may need to get the updated tranny.

Thanks for the response, I plan to go soon it is just a bit difficult b/c I bought the car from a ford dealership. So when I go to a Nissan dealership to have the fix it, I will have to front the cost and they will repay me.

Also does the stock flywheel make the cement mixer noise? It isnt very loud I just hear it b/c I am looking for it. Seem to hear it alot more when the car is warmed up.
