^ hmm I run a 13.4 in the 1/4 with stock rubber and I am an auto. Look at alberto's Z he runs 13.1. BTW I like your TQ numbers. I put down 264whp and 251wtq.

nice time, i am assuming though that were talking stock for stock. best times ive seen out of a 350z with regular rubber was high 13's.

ive seen alberto's runs, guy must drive like a madman. 13.1 is very good for n/a. thanks for the compliment, that was done stock at 800 miles. once i finish my boltons im hoping to be around 300/300.

I was running the following on my Evo 8:

AEM Intake
TurboXS Turbo Back Exhaust
TurboXS Test Pipe
Greddy Type-S
Greddy Profec B II @ 22psi
Apexi SAFC II
HKS TT
Megan O2 Housing
Megan Tubular Manifold
10.5 Hotside
Buschur Standard IC
Logic Performance 2.5" IC Piping Kit

That car definately got up and went. Used to stomp vettes all day.

An STi is also just a WRX, which is just an Impreza. And an SRT-4 is just a Neon, which is, well, just a piece of dookie. And a 350Z is just a 350Z, unless it's a 350Z, which would then make it a 350Z. And I would not say that an STi sounds like a tin can. More like a Harley. Hondas sound like tin cans.

Hands down, the Evo would take it.

anyone who says evo hands down, stock for stock it is a drivers race no question. evo having a weak tranny, but cheaper to mod.. sti being very reliable and strong more expensive to mod

fast cheap reliable pick 2.

Not from what I heard. I know they have HORRIBLE stock clutches, but the tranny is strong. Especially the MR.

No they are right. If you start to mod the evo and increase the horse power you are going to break your front diff unless you get your tranny built by someone. Trust me I used to frequent the evo forums daily. Saw many cases of this. Also the early evo 03's had a bunch of syncro problems.

Wow those are nice number for stock. My stock number were like 243/236.. something like that. To get 300/300 on a Z without FI requires alot of work. I am looking to get an extra 5-10whp from a reflash. But to get to that 300 mark you would need cams, headwork etc. What kind of Evo do you have.. a a Evo8, MR, or RS ?

2005 rs. the 300/300 is entirely possible without even touching the head, just takes bolt ons and tuning. the 10.5 hotside makes a bit of difference compared to the 9.8.

my last car was a 350 with a full set of boltons with safc 2. i got tired of spending lots of money for little to no gains. i wanted something that could be made real fast without spending 5k+ on a turbo kit.

to the guys talking about the tranny. most of the people that blow trannies is due to hard launches, if you dont launch your car its very hard to blow the tranny in an evo. but yes if you launch them hard it appears they are weak bc they do break quite often. the clutches suck! but mitsu made them that way for a reason, to keep them from blowing the tranny.

also keep in mind that the only evos with a front diff are 04 RS and 2005 up all models.

i had a s2000 and i was looking at all the those cars then i researched them and the evos and sti have major realibility issues specially the evo, my friend has one and his clutch went out at 6k. There fast cars but you have to deal with the turbo and transmissions( reminds me of the stealth TT i had.) on those cars and they dont hold up well. and the srt? a neon NO, i dont care how fast a car can do in the 1/4 if it looks like **** i wouldnt drive it/. And then the Z the 04's and up are pretty realable no major issues and the style is beautiful. So all around the z was my top choice just like my woman pretty fast and very good looking

i beg to differ in my experience with my 2003 touring 350z i had 16 warranty services in 2 years. a tranny was replaced, 4 trips for tire feathering, 3 for my right passenger window motor going out...etc.

the 350z has a major reliability problem, the only thing i didnt have a problem with was the engine.

Before I bought my Z I test drove an STI and an EVO. I thought they both drove real well and the sports car feel was definately there but the one thing that kept me from handing over money for one was the way they look. It's a shame that such a nice car is so ugly. These two cars aren't attractive from any angle and honestly remind me of something a college girl would drive. I really liked their performance potential but just couldn't get over how ugly they were. As for the neon, well, I don't think it even factors in...

The Z is one sexy looking car even if it is a little slow in stock form!
