Question Decisions, decisions (advice wanted)

As some of you know, I am planning on placing an order for a Z next week with hopes of a delivery around mid to late April. Now, should I place the order at MSRP assuring me the exact car I want in April, or should I just hold off until April and see if I can find what I'm looking for at a nearby dealer in hopes of getting it for less than MSRP? With individuals getting Z's for less than MSRP now, it can only get better as time goes by, right?

What would you do?

I'm sure you'll be able to find what you're looking for in April. I'd hold off on ordering if I were you. You won't get anything special out of ordering now, except maybe the EXACT options you want. I'm sure you could settle for some options that you do/don't want. I think you'll be able to find a dealer with a discount in April. Just my opinion...

The only options I'd worry about at all if you had to have them are NAVs and side airbags. Everything else can be installed later, and often for a few dollars cheaper if you order the parts from www.courtesyparts.com .

Just something to think about. I expected to order myself, but I found a car for a good deal now. I did go up a model to touring, but I think if I'd been patient, I could have found a performance for a good price, too.

You may try to talk to dealer into letting you order now, and leaving pricing open for the time of delivery, or just try to get it for under MSRP now.

Then, even if they say no, you can always check back in April to see what they have available.

The only options I'm looking to get are both the trunk and floor mats, and the aluminum sills.....nothing more. I'm gonna buy the front splash guards from Courtesy Parts. From what I've been seeing, most cars are coming with *more* than these few options....things I don't want at all. That's the main reason I want to order, so I avoid paying for things I don't really want, or need. I feel that if I'm spending $30K + for a car I shouldn't have to compromise.

I'm in no hurry to get the car immediately, so this will definitely play to my advantage. The longer I wait the more $$$ I'll have for the down payment. That's the reason I'm setting April as my purchase time frame. Maybe I'll just place the order and when April comes around, go shopping at some other dealers, and if I can get what I want for a better price, then I'll just cancel my order? I don't really want to go that route, but I'd like to get a good deal on the car.

I was thinking about ordering too-- I want an Enth. with nothing at all- no options- and in daytona blue. The dealer said that they don't have a plan to recieve one, so I should prolly order it. I said i'll get back to ya. I dunno- I want it below MSRP- I think I may wait too

I'm in the same situation. I'm looking at a Base model (floor/trunk mats). I haven't seen many Base models on lots so I'm kinda leaning towards ordering. I'd like getting it under MSRP in March/April, but I'd rather be guaranteed getting my car.

guys, I wouldn't order, I just ordered my car (but the only reason is b/c my family owns the dealership and their isn't a whole lot of dealer trades going on right now, BUT if they do find a dealer with that matches my order and is willing to trade, they will do it, and just put my car on the lot when it comes in).

The Z inventory at dealers is getting larger everyweek. by monday, check the inventory again, many dealers just got another allocation. If you order, you may find yourself obligated to that dealer, if NOT you can just shop around and find the car you want and actually pick it up.
