davidgmil...that is pretty shady. And I highly doubt the gas place is willing to sell premium for the price of cheapo.

A good buddy of mine has dyno tuned almost all the gas brands down here. He has found that the Mobil/Exxon gas showed up to a 40hp gain more than others. The next best was BP/Amoco....and the absolute worst was V-power, by Shell, to my surprise. I figure as long as you stay with the major brands..bp/amoco..mobil/exxon you should be good. I've only ran Mobil ever since I heard about it.

All gas is the same until each major company starts adding stuff to it. Mobil uses the best detergents according to a couple of sources so until proven wrong thats all I will use...

Your right all gas does come from the same source..but realize that it is then modified by each company to its own standards using detergents and other add ins. These add ins do not matter for any stock car...but if you have FI, you'll only want whats best. In the end its a small price to pay...

If the emissions laws in California are similar to AZ (and from my understanding they're actually a little bit more strict), you're not going to find anything higher than 91.

More so than fuel economy (gas mileage), you should examine which gas is best for you car.

Go to: www.toptiergas.com for the latest info (under "retailers").

There was a previous thread on this. So far, the "approved" (i.e. "higher quality") gas stations are:

QuikTrip
Chevron
Conoco
Phillips
76
Shell
Entec Stations
MFA Oil Company
Kwik Trip/Kwik Star
The Somerset Refinery, Inc.
Chevron-Canada (B.C. only)

Before any criticisms are levied, you should know that I take this "advice" with a grain of salt. I'm not sure how significant the differences are.

Nothing but Mobil ( which you forgot in your survey as well ). It has been consistently terrific in the Z.
