hey guys need ur opinion about this...
i am getting ready to spec out my car soon and start looking in the month or two that is coming up. I have narrowed it down to enthusiast or performance package. I plan on adding my own wheels and bbk from brembo in Red. So a track model is out of the question and do not want touring cuz i think it's extra money not well spent.
I am down between the enth. vs. performance.
the upgrades of performance is VDC, tire monitor and 18" alum alloy wheels. I would get my own Volks or BBS LMs but a set of 18" extra would always be nice. :-)
so the only thing that is hang up is the VDC. how does it work and is it something I would need? or is there comparable after market Dynamic Control available that i can purchase from a tuner?? Please advise.

I have a Track with the VDC. I tried turning it off a few times but didn't notice much difference, but I have had a few times where it kicked in and did me some good.
It all depends on how you intend to drive the car. Are you going to be dragging a lot? Do you normally intentionally spin your wheels? If so, VDC will probably annoy you.
Although I drive aggressively, I do not spin my wheels; my driving habits are ingrained to avoid that. Loss of traction is inefficient. For me, VDC is perfect. For those drivers that are used to running the hairy edge of the traction line, learning to play the drift, VDC is counter-productive because a good driver can do it better than the computer can.
I'm not saying one way is better than the other; I'm a product of the way I was taught to drive.
If you want to normally play the drift when you drive, VDC is not for you. If you want something that will keep you from breaking traction unexpectedly, go for the VDC. Personally, I like it.
One consideration: If your car has VDC, you can always turn it off. As I always say, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

VDC is very dependent on where you live. Up here in the Northeast, it's pretty useful. It kicks in a fair amount, both in the rain and in the (very) light snow.
If I ever make it back to California, I'm hoping it won't be used that much.

excellent response from all parties. thanks you.
but is there aftermarket traction control from mugen, amuse that is better?
I drive aggressively but not every turn as if it's my last turn.
there is a time and place for everything. I don't know if i should spend that extra 2k, is it worth it etc.
thanks guys.
