Hey ep3... Not to be a killjoy but this has been discussed multiple times. Just do a quick search and you will find the info you are looking for. The slight chatter that you hear when the car is not in gear and the clutch is out seems to be normal. Mine does it and several other Z's that I have checked out do it too.

Winding noise = your burly synchros
Chatter = the dual-mass flywheel. Both are normal. Enjoy!
