Is an Automatic really that bad?

To the initial question, I have always enjoyed a manual, I just don’t feel like I am in complete control without my stick. However, you know the guy and that’s an extremely good deal for a car with so little mileage. +1 to the guy before me, get whatever you like and tell everyone else to kiss it!! The auto just isn’t my thing.
PS, Don't think you will find a deal like that elseware.
PS, find out if he has had problems with tire feathering.

I am not trying to offend anyone this time. But, don’t you think that by getting an auto you take a little of the sports out of a sports car? Having gear on demand for me is a huge deal!!
Most of you talk about how it really helps in a straight line (1/4 mile). Doesn’t it get a little boring just holding the wheels and mashing the gas??
Again it’s a great deal, but I just couldn’t do it!!

Yes, and unfortunitly, this thread looks like its going to end up the same way those did
Here's what I do at the track with my AT G....
Hold the brakes... bring the rpm to 4K rpm and let her go.... control the throttle as I let go.... a slight chirp from the tires and thats it!

Like I said before, the performance difference is very minimal. You are the one who makes comments like "the guys with auto trannies get butthurt because deep down they know they're inferior and should have gotten a manual." You are the one who start these debates. I am not gonna say something like "oh he drives a stick to prove his d!ck is bigger than mine when its only 2in. long" or some **** like that.
+1
Well said!!!
I think AT's the way to go. But obviously there are 2 (or more) shcools of thought on the issue.
Since you know the seller, ask him if you can have the car for a day. Drive it. See if you like it.
If you do, jump on a GREAT deal.

ok, i didnt read all the post here, but i just sold my 5AT G sedan, i bought a 6MT Z... i would like to say that the gear in the 6MT is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better, they are not even comparable, my sedan was just as fast in first and second gear, but then the gears get really really long and you lose a lot...
4th gear in the sedan goes from around 100 to 147 i believe, that is just too long of a gear... it was killing my top end with nitrous also. cant wait to get my nitrous on my Z and see what it will do
just thought i would give my .02 since i just sold a 5AT and got a 6MT...
