Angry RIP my beloved Z

Well it's my sad duty to report that my 2003 Silverstone/Burnt Orange Touring Z is no more, thanks to a red Ford Ranger....

Received official word from insurance co. yesterday.....

This happened on tuesday 11/29/2005 in Thousand Oaks, CA. I stoped for some kids to cross the road at a marked cross-walk. Few seconds later I flew past the kids because older gentleman did not see me stop. (so I'm not at fault and the other guys insurance company accepted responsibility) I got nailed in the forehead with a visor, but otherwise standard whiplash injury.

So, now I have to go to 2-4 month of physical therapy, have no car and since I got it 9 month ago have no money for a new Z.

I maybe able to get a used one for around $25k, but if you add tax, that goes right to my limit.

Any suggestions as to what other cars I should consider.... looked at couple S2000, but not sure yet....

BTW, pics will be in later.

Sorry to hear about this. But the main thing is you are ok. How about a Civic or a Honda Accord? The new ones actually has pretty decent interiors and engine built. Not sure if what you mean by suggestions are limited to more of performance cars only.

Honda S2ks are surprisingly affordable, at least in my city I've noticed. My co worker recently traded his TL for an s2k and loves the car. I've even had the opportunity to drive it and I must say for only having 4 cylinders, that car's got pep!!!

PM me if you need a referral for a personal injury attorney. The settlement you receive probably would put you in a new Z.

HFM...you neglected to mention that a settlement could take 2-5 years to get.

+1. Sorry about the incident and your physical situation. Of course you are working with your lawyer concerning your physical injuries correct?

It shouldn't take that long. The thing that would take up most of the time is the therapy. Where the insurance company has accepted liability, it is unlikely that aggressive litigation is required to reach a settlement unless a party is being unreasonable with their settlement demand.

Anyways, good luck NeonShadow.

You could get a used Z for around $20k now in days. Got my 03' 2 months ago for $21k, after taxes and registration $23k. Sorry to hear the bad news. Poor Z ...

In my area S2K's are ridiculously overpriced. I was at a dealer a few months ago and they had used ones selling for up to $5k more than a brand new one. WTF.

if youre looking at 2-4 months in therapy, you should definitely be talking to a lawyer. its their fault that you are hurt. make them pay a reasonable amount for that, plus from what it sounds like they are not paying you what you think your practically new z is worth.

Man it seems like every few days theres a new "wrecked Z" thread. Sorry to hear about your loss, but at least you walked away with minimal injury. Like everyone else is saying, after its all said and done the insurance/injury settlement should definitely be able to get you into a new Z.
