atleast they took the front badge off, i've seen some Maaco jobs where they paint over everything besides lights and glass. but that would be the $299 special

sound like they charge ur insurance $2k and pocket $1500.00 of it ... reguardless hope it comes out well..most of us hate Macco and Earl schibe because they cut cost..cost and time that it takes to remove parts rather than a tape job so it save labor cost ...all insurance company urge repairs to be done at these shops ... should have contacted your local nissan dlr and ask them which body shop they use
hope all of us are wrong on this one ..good luck

mary i wasn't trying to bust your *****.....er ovaries, but i am still having a hard time beliving insurance sent you there. i hope some of my recomendations help, i have been burned by a body shop in the past and it sucked. i would hate for that to happen to someone else. i wasnt trying to say they were going to do a crappy job just because its maaco, but i know a lot of people all over the country who have had bad experiences. most of the time maaco jobs crap out bc the prep work is sub par. stuff like painting the bumpers on the car, i cant tell if the masked the bottom of your side view mirrors, but they should be black. if you look at the 240 with the blue paint (looks good btw) it looks like he did most of the prep work himself. removed all lights, signals and stuff that should be removed. if i were paying someone $2k for a paint job, the bumpers better be sprayed seperately and the proper prep work should be done. i think the body shop is making a killing on this. you live and you learn. like i said above i wasnt trying to rain on your parade, i just hope it doesn't turn into a headache bc your insurance wanted it painted there. its like the body shop guy said, you get what you pay for, but if thats how he does a $2k job, i would hate to see his $250 special. good luck and remember to inspect every inch and DO NOT ACCEPT THE CAR IF IT IS NOT EXACTLY HOW YOU WANT IT. YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER, NOT PROGRESSIVE.

one more thing, with that front end fresh out the paint booth i would highly recomend a clear bra, i bought my car used and it doesn't have one. it would suck to have a fresh front end getting all chipped and banged to death.

oh and happy birthday!!!!!
