Yes. But I知 talking about bone dry pavement. It hasn't rained in 4 days.

Last time I drove the Z was about 2 weeks ago. From a 40mph 2nd gear punch I would spin to 7100rpm's, a fast shift into 3rd would continue the spin. Its really bad in my car cuz I have a little more negative camber than a stock Z, and I didnt have my meaty 19's on I had my 18's on (no traction anyways)....too dangerous in this cold weather to be driving the Z, I find that if I drive a little spirited VDC goes nuts and intrudes, and if I turn it off, its drift fest around turns.

I have Continental tires on the rear. They are pretty new. How are these tires in the cold as opposed to others in the cold?

You guys are nuts for even still having the Craptenzas on your cars! I swapped mine for set of Kumho all season tires before the temps dropped on the East Coast. I try and limit my winter driving to my beater car, but so far the new Kumhos have driven like a dream. If you guys place any value on your lives or your vehicles I'd strongly recommend ditching the summer tires or invest in an old, reliable car for the winter months.

not much at those low temps.

depending on your winter conditions you can go high performance winter tires
which are designed to handle low temps better and yield decent performance
on dry road and snow/ice.

I have Dunlop all seasons on my back wheels and can actually drive my car in the snow now! I recommend it if you can afford the swap. Last year I couldn't drive the thing if it snowed, .

So to sum up this highly informative thread: cold temps. + summer tires = less traction. Wow
