I've done a bunch of searches and can't find anything on this even though I'm sure it's been discussed. But I'm going to be doing a sub and amp install tomorrow night and I would like to remove the trunk weight that helps close the trunk while I'm taking everything apart. Anyone that's done that have some tips for how to remove the cover for the trunk and where the weight is and how to get it out? THanks! Fletch

Oh, and anybody know how much it weighs?

 

The panel just pops off if you pull on it. The weight is only held on by four bolts and I think it weighs 3 or 4 lbs.

 

Oh, ok. So not that much weight. We'll see how the rest of my stuff goes time wise and if I get a chance I'll pop it out. Thanks!

every other part of the trunk looks like it weighs more that the "weight" heh

looks more like something the latch bolts too.

the heavy *** hatch looks like the ast thing it needs is weight lol

 

It only takes a few minutes. If you want to counter the weight of a stereo system take out the spare and tools.

 

what kind of sub and amp may i ask?
