Don't get me wrong I love my Z, I have a black enthusiast, but I am sick of the "kinks" of a new model car. My car has 2k miles on it and has had rattles from day one. Among the most annoying has been a "tapping" coming from the drivers rear quarter panel. I have torn the car apart trying to figure out what the hell the tapping is, but have had no luck. So today I finally took the car in to diagnose the problem. After a day of test drives they found what they thought to be the problem, the upper rear shock assembly plate is defective. Great! So they put the part on order and are expecting delivery on friday. Like I said before, I love the car but I am so sick of all the "problems" with a new generation vehicle. Anyway, I don't expect anyone to respond to this thread, I just wanted to vent and my fiancee is sick of hearing me talk about the Z.....lol

 

Hey, glad you're getting some things worked out. Just take them one at a time and things won't seem so overwhelming. Remember, a lot of things are still "right" with this car. Others are working through some of the same issues. We're all in this together.

I have the same noise!!! It's like a small metal clicking within the B-pilar on the driver side. How could that translate into the upper rear shock assembly...as the noise is right there next to my ear ...I don't konw.


In fact, I opened the door while driving and closed it..and it seem to go away momentarily until I get to some mildly bumpy road to get it to return...then it's remains ...
