stock exhaust

Catalytic converters and the stock Y are pretty restrictive...
Otherwise, not bad...
I always argued that a stock exhaust setup with cat pipes and aftermarket Y (fujitsubo, AAM, etc.) would be *almost* as good as aftermarket... considering aftermarket exhausts usually only offer 6-10hp gain anyway (Y included)

Is there another question behind your question?
I put my OEM exhaust in the trash, and didn't take any photos. I agree with Silkk: if I had enough money to replace only two items, it would be the catalytic converters and Y pipe.

How loud is it without the cats and an aftermarket y pipe? On my 02 Altima I had hotshot headers with no cat/straight through to the Stillen exhaust, and I swore I would never do anything that loud again.

I've just put on my new nismo catback and it sounds great but it's about as loud [under acceleration] as I'd like and I really want highflow cat's but am wondering how much louder it will be after that?

I think the best exhaust setup would be, headers, high-flow cats, and an aftermarket Y-pipe. Keep the midpipe and your muffler, and your stock exhaust will sound meaner, deeper, and louder, but still retain the stock exhaust sound.

Itll sound exactly like ur altima..same engine afterall. Maybe a little more raspy since there is no B-pipe. The more free the exhaust, the louder and the raspy ness is caused by the fact that the exhaust is dumped into a pipe.
