I'm sure there are quite a few members with aftermarket shift *****, I would try contacting one of them to see if they have their old one.

I have this too! It's like it wore through the aluminum. I bet you ALOT of us 6MT drivers have this. Let's get a TSB for it. I have an 03 and there is still no way the shift **** should be worn out that soon. Just like my Burnt Orange seats wore through on the Bolsters after 2 years. I had them fixed under warranty though.

I also have an 03 and I had my shift **** replaced about a month ago due to wear on the lower "metal" section where I usually rest my hand. It was just the paint that wore through. I'm not sure if the top part is painted. The guy at the dealership replaced it because I'm still under warranty. I didn't know they were so expensive until I saw this post.

To the original poster: BTW I think that the current shift ***** are little taller than the original 03 ***** by about 0.5cm. There was a spacer put on with the new **** that was ratteling which I promply removed also. Has anyone else noticed the height difference? If there is a difference you may want to keep that in mind when you are looking for your OEM ****.
