I took “The Run” DVD to work this morning. I recently got a new 19 inch flat monitor and audio speakers with a sub woofer on the floor. Before the start of business, I put The Run in the computer, and turned up the audio volume. Despite 2 tiny speakers and a sub woofer, the DVD sounded pretty dynamic. In a minute or two, coworkers gathers in my cubical, and I started The Run from the beginning. Not familiar with the DVD, my coworkers asked the usual questions:
“Is that a real movie?”
“Is that an advertisement?”
“Is it for real?”
“What kind of car is that?”
I would have preferred to watch the DVD in silence, but answered the questions briefly but politely.
Everyone enjoyed the DVD, and at the end asked:
“What kind of car is that?”
“Nissan 350Z.”
“Do you have a car like that?"
“Yes.”
“But that’s a REAL race car. You don't have a REAL race car, do you?”
