Default thieves?

Well, i havent heard or read many stories here, but have any of you Z owners got your cars broken into? Im pretty pissed, cause a few hours ago i was at my cousins house hanging out. Im gettin ready to leave, its like 330AM. I walk out with my girlfriend and she notices that my hood is kinda up, im like wth? Then i see that my rear window and passenger side window has been bashed. So from past experiences with my other cars, i already know whats up. Take a look inside, they took my amp, and Alpine deck, ANND the shopping bag that my girl and I went Xmas shopping . And on top of that they took the change out of the change holder. These losers didnt even know how to open the trunk, so they took a bar of some sort and try to pry up the trunk, and ended up bending the trunk lip, and cracked the paint. theres glass everywhere, and im pretty pissed. I dont even know where to begin re building.....*sigh*...I hope that they die. Thanks for listening. I could use some advice as to where to start rebuilding. Thanks guys

Holy crap man. I feel for you, it's even worse when it happens so close to the holidays. But just like zand02max says, though alarm couldn't have prevented it from happening, you sure as hell would've heard something, and it's "idiot bashing time". Hate to hear from a fellow Z'er running into some desperate asses.

For future reference, when you decide to build your audio system, cover it up when you leave your car amp and all, if they can't see it they're not going to try. Also, if you come into a neighbordhood you don't know about, and say (for example) "homies" are hanging out and see you pass by with your audio bumping, trust me one of them is going to notice thus waiting for the right moment to take it. Is like advertising what you have in there you know? They knew what they were going for and it wasn't for the coins in your ashtray.
This is from experience.
Again, sorry about your car and hopefully everything works out for ya.

When you leave items of value in plain sight, some crack addict is going the take it, sell it and buy a fix for his habit. Considering the amount of damage that was done, this looks like a amateur job. Pros operate with more finesse. Nothing will dissuade a crack head from stealing stuff to feed his habit. Nothing.

that sucks man...i hate people...you can never get away from stupid idiots...i might get a 2-way car alarm that beeps you when your alarm goes off, just in case you can't hear it...hopefully insurance will cover the damage...try to take it easy...hopefully everything will work out

Never leave anything in sight in the car.

I've had people be amazed that their 250 CD collection that was sitting out on their passenger's seat got their car broken into. Figure even if the thing isn't stuffed full it's got $2000 worth of music in it ... worth about $150 at the nearest pawn shop.

Get an alarm. If you can't gather up the $40 for even a cheap alarm get a couple of blinking 12VDC LED's for $5.

Park well away from everyone/thing else so that there's no cover for a thief to duck into. Park under a light if possible.

+1. My sub box is built into the spare tire well. I always cover the sub with a small blanket when parking. All amps are hidden and I take HU face plate with me. Have a Club on the steering wheel and a 2-way pager alarm.
Whenever I'm going somewhere, I always turn the tunes down at least 4 or 5 blocks before parking. Always look in your rear view mirror when getting close to your destination. Make sure no one is following you.
Remember, Out of SIght, Out of mind.
Sorry to here for your loss.

crazy thing is that, i was parked on the drive way, not in the street or anything. They got some ***** to come up on the drive way. And i have a 5% tint so i didnt think they could see the system. Proably stupid to say, but i used to own an integra and those get stolen all the time, and yes i had a 2 way alarm on it, but the Z, i rarely ever heard stories of people getting broken into. So i just left the stock alarm. My mistake i guess. I always park my car in places that im almost sure is safe. This neighborhood is a pretty good one too. I guess it just had to happen. Sucks that it happened 2 Days before christmas. Whatta slap to the face you know? But hey, Hopefully when al the body work and windows get fixed, IM gonna COME back bigger then before.

I'm really sorry for the incident. Find out how much your comprehensive insurance is. Mine is 1000 dollar deductible. So when my Z got keyed from my driver door to the end of my fender, of course it costs $990. I want to try to lower my comprehensive.

Sorry to hear that, but I have had a Altima broken into, got all my CD's and a couple of items that were in the car at the time. Sorry to tell you that your personal items are gone but the good news is that if you have full coverage on your car the damage to the car can be fixed,( via insurance company ) Good luck!!!!!

ps I feel your pain!!!!!!!!!!!

man that sucks... thats one of the reasons why im not going to put a system in my Z, because it is in plain sight for anyone to see... i would never wish death upon anyone but i know how you feel... invest in a good pager alarm or something and the chances of this happening again should be reduced, and who knows? after installing the alarm you might even get a discount from your insurance company =)

i have the clifford 2 way alarm and it is cool but sometimes i dont get the page, no matter how close i am. if your pager and the car are far enough away or your in a building your most likely to not get the page. it cost me 350 and i regret it sometimes. the range is said to be about 1/4 mile and if you just keep holding on the lock or unlock it might do what you want.
