Default To all who ordered there new 350Z- Pls Read

I ordered a Daytona Blue Z Enthu model with all options becides the head arbag curtians on Dec 14th. I was giving a window for delivery of 75-90 days...

So basically I am curious of how accurate the estimated time was that was given to me.. So I am asking what window were you given for delivery and how long in days till it was actually delivered.. For example. "I got a window of 60-75 days and I got it in 65 days"

The dealer blabbed to me about how good Nissan was at delivering on time.. Just wondering if I should really expect to get it in that peroid or not..

Thanks in advance

if (a big IF) NNA only lets dealers put the order in on 1 day (my dealers was Jan 7), then your order that you thought went in in mid Dec really got in in beginning of Jan, and that maybe why he gave you such a long date. I am hearing 10-15 weeks, after it is ACTUALLY ordered, but I Ordered mine from the deal 4 weeks ago (so it will be 14-19 weeks total)

I ordered in September and was told to expect January/February delivery. I just talked with my dealer and he's now pushed the date back to end of February, or maybe beginning of March.

I will slap the taste of out my dealers mouth if he starts pushing up dates.. I told him I would only order it if he was 100% sure the car would be there in that window. He said "he was 100% sure with the exception of the possibility of the USA closing ALL trade from overseas which would effect the entire country".

I told him I would just wait a month or so and just look for a dealership that has what I want in stock if it would be longer, if its longer fists are gonna fly, I want my car no later than 90 days which would already be mid-march. He told me he faxed over the order THAT SAME DAY I ORDERED IT!

But I still have faith

ahahahahhahaha...man, seeing that i wanted that long too, seems kinda funny.

Hell, when half of the pre-order people put down deposits, we didn't know jack sh*t about the car.

I would look more into those dates that your dealer is quoting you. I ordered my car on Nov 15th , the order actually got picked up by Nissan on Deceber 9th. My dealer told me that my ship date is Feb 11th and that the car would be in about a week to a week and a half after that. Feb-March for a car that was ordered in september seems to be a really long wait I would find out if they are giving you the run around. I know that some dealers dont get as much allocation as others so the order might not get picked up as fast , but something doesnt sound right here. Good luck

I was told about 8-10 weeks when I ordered on Nov. 4th last year. Now they're telling me about 3 weeks from now, so the car should be in at the end of this month, assuming I'm not being lied to.

My dealer placed order on Dec. 5. I received an order number 2 days later (Y###178). Dealer stated it should be in between beginning of February and end of February (8-12 weeks). I won't be mad if its pushed back into March, gives me opportunity to save more money.

Cheers!

I am glad someone got it!!

I guess this is the second wave of people we are now old timers, that 6-8 month wait is a vague memory but one we will have in common with a few and a bond that is unbreakeable we will have reunions of the pre-orderers and talk about our experiences trying to find out about the car and when production would start, when order numbers and VIN's were issued and then trying to find out what ports the ships came into, those were the days I will look upon them fondly.

Hey, Daytona Blue Z in Bo(ston):
I'm in the Beantown area too-- still waiting to order mine tho- for better weather and a business deal!!!
Anyhow- did you get a good deal? Where did you buy it? I am checking Clay, Ira, Natick, etc. There are a bunch of dealers around, but I was wondering if you had any good ( or bad) experiences you might be willing to pass on to a fellow neighborhood Z fan!
Thanks
Rizz

I agree with rodH. I "ordered" mine on September 26th. The dealer did not have enough allocations for the months of October and November. My order ACTUALLY went to Nissan on December the 6th; the dealer faxed me the order # the same day. My car is to be a "January Built". I believe it takes them about a month to build it, and hence, will be shipped to US sometime in February. (Total of 3 months from the ACTUAL ORDER)

I will appreciate if others can confirm/deny my information. Thanks.

Sept. 13 - Put down deposit w/Dealer.
(Dealer stated delivery would be Jan - Mar.)

Oct. 2 - Dealer placed order w/NNA (they only take orders the first week of each month).

Nov. - Build month.

Dec. 28 - Car delivered.

I ordered in late June, 2002 and I still don't have my Z. So that's more than 6 months. I did order the Nav though. It's at the port in NJ at least (I'm in NY). It's due in next week or so.

I placed my order on Oct. 10, 2002 + $1000.00 down
Dealership placed order first week in Nov
I was told 90 - 120 days
Just got VIN today!
Car should be here in a few weeks

Can't wait!

Looks to me like a lot of people in Dallas, TX have been getting pushed back. They tried to push me into March, but my sales team at Don Davis told them NO WAY! "I got a Z girl here who wants her car!" Later on they called with my VIN!

Aren't there enough Zs around now that you don't have to order one? I just drove by my dealer that had a Brickyard available last week and they now have a leMans (not touring or track) and a Daytona Track. These are not spoken for, just dealer stock.

Ordered Sept. 20th, was told mid to late February. After Christmas I saw on the forum that people that ordered late September were getting their cars. Called my salesman and he told me they were expecting the VIN # by mid-January and my car by late January to early February. He said that the reason that people that ordered at the same time I did were getting their cars is because the dealership was selling a lot of Z (at MSRP). They had exceeded their allotment and my order was not accepted until Nov. 1st and could be expected 3 months later (they added a half-month to the expected delivery for safety). Well the week after I called him he called to say my Z was ready, I picked it up January 3rd. BTW: I love it!!!! I am happy it came in 2 months early but I wished that Nissan was better at keeping me informed. I had not lined up financing and some parts for the Z were backordered. I thought I still had a month or two, no need to ask for 2 shipments.
