Default Installation Time and Labor Fees

I want to have an idea about how long it will take and how much it will cost to install these:

1. intake
2. pulley
3. exhaust
4. plenum
5. rotor & pads
6. sway bars

All I had installed is tokico gas shocks and tein lowering springs. It costs me $280 for the installation and alignment, does that sound about right? Is it better to have my nissan dealership install them or a local auto shop? And are they still in warranty?

Thanks

I got the JWT pop-charger intake and it took me a good hour to install. Its pretty easy if u have the right tools.

I jus bought the UR Crank Pulley and i have no idea if i would be able to install it myself. Im not sure how long that would take.

I got a nismo exhaust and nissan dealer installed it for $60. I love it!!

Im also buying a polished plenum from MRC Motorsports next week, after the holidays. From doing research, alot of members claim to swap plenums with ease. I would do it myself but i MRC wants the stock plenum after the swap of the polished plenum and i dont see the point having to do it myself.

The rest, i have no idea how much labor it will cost.

Sorry if i wasnt any help..jus wanted to help somewhat.

I'd say about 4-5 hrs for all that stuff......anywhere from $250-$400. All your stuff is pretty simple to be frank. I'd do it myself and save some cash.

To be honest, I am not very handy with tools. I do not want to risk my Z that way. Thanks for your suggestions anyways.

actually you got a pretty good deal with those tokico shocks installed.
i installed the tokicos myself (Z on jack stands) last month and it took me a good four hours to complete, and that was with no breaks in between.

Nissan will charge you “Book time.” If the book says 3.0 hours, and the job takes 2.0 hours, you will be charged 3.0 hour.

Other shops may charge “real time.” If the job takes 2.5 hours then you will be charged 2.5 hours labor.

True, only problem is if they give you "junior" who has never done anything in his life...it might take him 6 hours for something that the books says it takes 2.0 hours. Then you get charged real time (6 hours). I prefer book time, then if they go over it's on them.

tokicos installation + alignment for ONLY $280 ???
you kidding me right?.. that's a killing good deal!

you could have been easily charged for $280 just for the installation without any alignment done.

I'd say $300-$500 for installing the stuff... As far as warrenty goes, unless they are Nimso S-tune prouducts Nissan warrenty will not cover them. Plus if you have any type of engine problem after installing this stuff (non nismo products) they will 90% of the time try and blame your mods for engine failure and try and void your warrenty, so be prepared for a fight if this does happen (would be rare if it did)....

1. intake - They will charge you about an hour (70-90 bucks)
2. pulley - maybe 1.5 hrs (100-140 bucks)
3. exhaust - depends on the exhaust 1-2.5 hrs (70-200 bucks)
4. plenum - about an hour (70-90 bucks)
5. rotor & pads - about an hour (70-90 bucks)
6. sway bars - about 2 hrs (140-180 bucks)

I wouldn't let the dealership touch my car, but if you trust yours, then go for it. Warranty shouldn't be afffected either way if the work is not done at the dealership. Though they would probably give you problems with things like the pulley, plenum and possibly the intake. If you get everything done at the same place, they might give a'package' deal and save you some money.

regarding the UR pulley installation.....just follow the instructions that comes with the UR pulley....all you need is a breaker bar with a 19mm short socket to loosen the stock bolt and the stock pulley will come off. There's no need to remove the radiator for the job. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour depends on how handy you are.

just go to your local Harbour freight tool outlet and you'll see a few for under 20 bucks depends on the length, you need at least an eighteen incher for this job....make sure your socket will fit w/o an adaptor, otherwise there wouldn't be enough clearance. Good Luck.
