If they make it a V8 or turbo they are going to kill the car just like the Z32, it'll be priced way out of the market.

Be nice if they just used a dedicated sports car platform and made the think lighter, rather than build it on a platform used for sedans and SUVs...

What Grocery getters are faster than a 350z under $40,000 ?

There are alot of rumors on the net about a v8 z in the near future. If this will be an option or standard feature in the near future is unclear at this point. Do a search for 450z on google and you will find plenty to read.

I would think a V8 350z would compete with there GTR performance wise, so I doubt a 350z v8 will ever come out... Expect the V6 with a small bump in HP, maybe around 320 hp or Possibly a supercharged V6 between 300-350 hp (shrug)

What ever happened to performance options? A base model wouldn't have to be priced out of market. Performance upgrades such as a V8 or turboed V6 with weight reductions and the like can be made available for those that have the moola. Why does it have to be the same engine for every car? Because of the 350 moniker? The car could be labelled just Z or carry over the Fairlady name. I personally prefer Z. Currently, I don't think the performance model offers much more in "performance" to justify the cost. But if Nissan were to offer some serious performance options/packages I'd be willing to take another go at ownership.

Just some thoughts I wanted to share!

Peace!

+1 the track model ought to really be a track model. With significant power upgrade, breaking upgrade, aero upgrades and weight reduction.

the new Z will be a V8 regardless of all speculation. engineering and market evolution already points that direction

No. The 350Z that I am driving is more fun than the new 2009 (If there is one).

Screw waiting for the 2008 or 2009 model, I heard the 2052 model is going to have a V12 putting out 1000hp, wings, and a magic monkey in the trunk that will give you three wishes. Going to be great, only 46 years to go!!!
