Default Base 2006

Whats up people, nice forum.

Im in the market for a new car and am looking at the base Z....it seems to have everything that I need for the moment. My questions are: How much should I pay OTD on it.....I see in another thread that some are getting the Enthusiast OTD anywhere between 28500-30k . I was hoping to get the base in the low 27's.....is that a doable figure. Secondly....are the five point 18's standard on the base?

Thanks in advance........

Can't help you with the price, but Yes, the 18" wheels are now standard on the base starting in '06. Good Luck on your search and purchase.

use neogotiating skills talk an enthusiast model down to a base price...
you need at least basic TCS for safe winter driving
but then if you garage the car for the winter then base should be fine
if u track at all
get base and upgrade nismo LSD

I cant remember off the top of my head.....but I went totally bare bones on the Nissan site....was like 28K. Then went to Edmunds.com to see what others were paying.....the dealer cost was in the low 26's, what others were paying in my area (according to Edmunds) was low 27's. Ive used Edmunds (and NADA/KBB) while purchasing new in the past with positve results. It seems like an awful lot of car for 27K...seemed to good to be true.....maybe due to winter here in northeast.

Thanks again......cant believe the fast responses already!

Work with $28,000. Figure $27,000 for the car. Use that figure with the calculator at CarMax.com to arrive at an out-the-door cost.

BTW the Base may be difficult to locate. Dealers are less apt to stock the Base because the profit/car is considerably less than other models. Best of luck.

You can always order one.

You might also want to go to Nissan site and search dealers. You can widen the search by choosing a different city & using 100 mile radius.

When I bought my 03 Brick I found it at a dealer 300 miles away using the dealer search.

Not sure, but dealers will often trade cars with other dealers to satisfy customers. As I mentioned, you may not be able to be selective about color.

back in early 03, it was almost full price for every Z buyer, my buddy ordered the Touring with burnt orange leather interior and it was like $37,000 out the door at that time.

Heck, here in Omaha NE, there is still a Yellow 35Th anniversary with navigation and everything. Nissan of Omaha is the dealership.
