pre 06 Zed cars with base, enthu, perf, and touring models have 287bhp compared with G35's 298bhp standard...
only pre06 track and 35th models have 298 rev up motors...

I'm pretty sure the pre 05 G35C 6MTs only had 280hp and the Z had 287.

There are quite a few topics on this if you search.. but mainly weight is G>Z and they have the same power but the Z is isin't nearly as heavy so it is alot faster.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Z isnt all that much faster than the G.... We arent talking more than a sec on a 1/4mile.

thanks~ found some good info from searches before~
but i see from the company websites that the weight difference is less than 50kg.....and if the guy in the g is skinny....

what im trying to ask is that besides the weight difference, are there anything SIGNIFICANTLY different from the two, performance wise?

performance wise the Z has a stiffer feel compared to the G, but upgrade the suspencion and they handle the same. and please the Z is NOT alot faster than the G. slight weight difference= slightly faster Z. I know I have driven both. they are both great cars and all this seems to be repeated over and over again.

two different classes of cars to be directly compared to each other. EVO's and Sti's are still just cheap japanese four doors... Cobra's are just mustangs all be it with better drive trains...

I still consider the Z or G a higher class car and much better in the looks department...

I looked at both and read on both. I have mag articles on both. I have seen both race at the track. Your being kind to the Z. They are really more like .2 of a seconds difference stk to stk in a quarter mile.
Z over G.

Performance should not be the deciding factor in purchasing these wonderful cars. A couple of bolt ons / weight reduction / suspension and the car is the same.

If you don't mind spending a little more and want the two rear seats go G.
If you want a slightly lower car stk and only need two seats get the Z.
If none of that matters .... buy the one you like the looks of or the ride of.
The only difference was freeway ride was much better in the G for me.
If you change the tires and shocks on the Z you get the same ride however.
So, you see it is just a mix / match set up.

Therefore:

Z=G G=Z

These were my two choices:

We'll and you know which way I went. However, I would have loved the G just the same.

I agree. Really, where can you go in the US that you can legally go faster than 80mph anyways? Common guys .....

Enjoy the ride !!!

I've owned both. Z hasd more of a true sports car feel and G is a bit more luxury car feel, yet still very quick. G rides better (8 in. longer wheelbase), Z is slightly quicker and more visceral. Only way to decide is look at and drive them back to back. I went from a G35c 6mt to an FX35 (just wanted something different for a while) and now have a Z. I love my Z as a sports car and like the looks slightly better than the G, but I miss my G sometimes; the interior and stereo were much nicer than the Z and those tail lights are to die for.

You can get the G with a factory-ordered option for rear-wheel steering. Don't know how much that helps performance.
