Default 350z Accident....

well .. i was parked at a 7-11 runnin in to get some stuff from there....
my car was parked next to my buddies G35....

look out the damn store.. the car is gone ....
i was like damn someone jack it...
i walked out to see my car slammed against the edge of wall.

i swear i had the e-break pulled up.
but now i need some advice....

should i go thru insurance ....
or should i just buy a new hatch ... a rear bumper... diff lights... and maybe need a new exhaust.....

it would be very helpful .. if you guys threw in your .02 cents.

change the brakes first since u said it was up...
its always best not to go thru insurence imo...
if it just rolled down it should have been soo bad.. how deep was the hill?

Did you leave your car running, and did you leave your car in nuetral? Because you are suppose to leave your car in a gear, even if you have the hand brake up.

That sucks man. But if it was gonna run across the street because the E-brake was down wouldn't you have notice the car was slightly moving (lose) when you're getting out the car which would let you know you need to apply the E-brakes?

That's why I always look back about 4-6 times at the car after parking and walking away. Its a habbit.

Don't use insurance.

Post some pics so we can access the damage.

Good luck.

I would go through insurance for sure. The damage doesn't look that bad but a body shop is going to try to screw you over. However, if you have a hook up at a body shop then check to see what it'll cost you. Otherwise just go through insurance.

ebrake it good enough. If u leave it in gear u put a lot of stress on the gear box.

my 2cents is fixing it ur self would cost a lot of money. Painting alone would cost a lot. But ur insurance going to go sky rocket =/ go through insurance if they raise u go to another one

go get an estimate from a reputable bodyshop so you get an idea on how much it would cost you. then call your insurance agent to find out how much the surcharge would be and make your decision.

Holy crap!
Sorry about the incident..however I wouldn't go through with insurance company.. If your budget is enough, go with aftermarket hatch, rear bumper
and exaust if you need.. these will cost you some $ but you must always look at the bright side (chance to have mod your Z) and go from there.

.. my friend in the G35 said the same thing lol .... He is like time to mod the car lol.

I would do that if it was just cosmetic damages... but .. we got some bent metal ....

we'll just have to see..

Have to agree here. Often in this situation there might be damage that isn't as superficial as it seems, and that's where it can be more expensive.

Good luck with the fix.

Get a few estimates to find out how much the damage is. DO NOT call your insurance agent until you decide if the amount is large enough that you cannot afford it. They can and will hit you with a larger premium you even if you don't make a claim. Do a search, many people have been burned by just asking their agent what will happen if they make a claim.
