What SCREAMS mid-life crisis more?
OK!
You're 40 - you want a great car to drive. Which car absolute SCREAMS mid-life crisis? Also, what do you tell people when they tease you?

LOL, so true, I had a crisis when I turned 25! When I read somewhere that your body stops growing at 25, I realized if you stop growing... that basically translate to you starting to shrink! HAHAHA

For me, nothing says mid-life crisis like Corvette. Guess that's because I usually see old people driving them.
But here's a question: If you've owned sports cars since you first got your license, then is it still a mid-life crisis if you continue buying sports cars at 40? Hmm. I don't know. I think a mid-life crisis car for me would be some sort of luxury sedan.

Fiat Spider (can I call that a sports car?) 70's
RX7 80's
928 90's
350Z 2005
With a bunch of family cars mixed in there. Turned 50 last Sept. I think I got at least one more good mid-life crisis left in me too!!!!!!

I'd say Corvette. I hope to own one when I see my mid-life crisis. I have to get to a point where I have more money than brains cause I still don't see paying twice the price of a Z to get that type of performance for the street.
It's too easy to build something nicer for less.
The problem with that is I wish I owned one when I was 20 that way I would have been able to test it's limits with better reaction times. That's when you don't care to keep the car for 20 years and you just want to use it. Unfortunately as I get older the more I baby my cars because I want them to stay around for a long time. This wasn't always the case.

e) none of the above
To me, when I see a 40something in a Mustang, THAT screams midlife crisis!
That said, buying a sportscar in your 40's isn't really a crisis. For years I drove vehicles that suited our family needs, (never a minivan!!) and now FINALLY I get to drive something that I WANT to again.

I think none of these cars scream Mid-life Crisis as much as the Porsche 911.
If I were a middle aged man who had some cash to spare now, I would
blitz over to get me a 997 Carrera S with Sport Chrono Package
Actually just saw one the other day at the car wash, driven by a middle-aged
man of course.

My first midlife crisis was July of 2000 at the age of 48 when I bought a sweet 1984 300ZX which, at the time, I considered a "sports car". My second mid life crisis hit at the age of 52-almost 53-in March when I bought my '05 Roadster. No comparison between the 2 cars except I get a thrill out of driving both!
