Default Touring owners R U still happy?

I'm curious if those that bought Touring packages are still happy with their purchase. Or would you rather have gotten a different package?

Complaints I've heard so far are.......

1) Power seat controls jam into your leg. Uncomfortable
2) Bose system not that great
3) Auto volume adjust sucks

These are the main ones. The one that concerns me the most is the seat being uncomfortable. It makes me think of maybe getting a Performance and adding leather or a track. What's everyone's thoughts on this?

Is the Track model really that much better to spend $4,000 more than a Performance package?

Touring was and is the right choice for me - no regrets.

Nope I'm not happy anymore.

I think I feel more excited, ecstatic, moved, inspired, animated, passionate and/or thrilled.

Hey VaGentleman, nice Zaino job...looks awesome.

About the thread question.

I ordered a Silverstone Performance model, it had everything I wanted. Until I saw the Silverstone Touring with burnt orange leather that the dealer had on his lot. That leather color changed everything about the car for me. It made the carbon interior look very plain to me and just "did" it for me. So I took that Touring and haven't looked back. So for me, it was the orange leather interior that really blew me away. The Blose radio, power, heated seats, 6 CD, blah, blah, were all just nice little extras that I would rather have then not have and I'm glad to have them despite any problems others have had.

So it depends what's important to you. You can definitely save a few bucks by going with something other than Touring or Track.

absolutly happy!!!
for me the leather and everything else makes a better choice than the performance. as far as the track model goes touring has better looking rims, no areo package (thats a good thing) and bigger brakes i don't need. but, everythings subjective. i'm sure some people feel the exact opposite about track vs touring. any way you slice it its a great car for the bucks.

first off, number 1 is bogus, who said that? for those wondering, seat controls are in the same place on the G35, and other infiniti models. your leg would have to be on the outside of the side bolsters to hit the switches, which by the way, are tiny little ***** reccessed.

anyway, ummm number 2, its not the best, but its nowhere near bad either.

and number 3 is quite nice once you get the fix, which is standard from the factory at this point.

by the way, Im VERY happy.

When I sat in a touring at the dealer I felt a hard lump rubbing my right leg. I was thinking it was the controls. I'm going to go sit in it again tomorrow to see how everything feels.

No. I would have taken the Track w/factory, heated, Touring seats. About a grand more is all it would have cost. In retrospect, the stereo is unimportant. Not spending money on brake upgrades is. Track wheels are not a factor, not that special and would not weigh in on me buying a car today.

No regrets but I would have ordered a Track model with factory leather if it was available. I removed the Bose.

Happy for the most part. Would I have made the same choice over again. No. Not worth the blowz stereo and the leather is nice except for the seat belt dye that is discoloring the shoulders.

I'm not sure I understand about #1 in your list. Like everyone else in this thread has stated, no regrets. I love the Touring. I actually find the seats very comfortable. Nothing digs into my leg when I drive. I took it on a nice long trip, about 900 miles round trip and felt great!

There's another thread somewhere where someone else has mentioned after a little while the right side of their leg started to hurt. A few people mentioned having the same experience. Maybe they were (dare I say it) larger people I dunno. I'm not super big but I'm not small so that may be a factor. Could also just be a random thing. In any case I'm glad to hear so many people are happy with it just as it is.

I love mine.

the seats are great, the bose is great (after fix).

Its everything I expected and more.

It cracks me up...the "complaints" . Like the rattling shifter...I love the vibration through the shifter...you can really FEEL the power!

How come DrDrilZ? I've thought about the same thing but then when I think about that I'd be better off getting a Performance and adding leather. Mainly because I don't care for the aero packg. The rims are nice but I would still end up getting custom rims so there's wasted money. I don't race as much as I used to so upgraded brakes aren't as necessary although if I needed to I could add it later.

The thing for me is, call me crazy but I really love power seats. I'm also not one to upgrade an entire car audio system. As long as it doesn't suck and can put out some good sound at high levels I'm fine with it. I've heard the base stereo system and I have to say it kind of blows. Hmmm in the end I guess a Touring is good for me. Otherwise I will get the Performance with added leather and still save $2000.

Anyone know if you can get a Performance and add power seats to it through the dealer? I'm guessing not but worth an ask.

The seat controls are badly placed, IMO, but it isn't something I'd question my decision on. I have longish legs (34" inseam), and I need about an inch more seat travel. Since I don't have it, I have to bend my right leg a bit, and that puts my thigh against the controls. It isn't comfortable, but on trips, I just put the cruise on and move away from the knot on the side of the seat.

The Bose is crappy. Enough said. Not worth the price difference. As for the audio adjustment, that hasn't really bothered me. What does is annoying treble and muddy base, that is impossible to adjust for me.

I really intended to get a Performance, and I think it was the better buy for me. I got such a great deal on the Touring, though, that it was about what I would have paid to order a performance at MSRP, and I could get it now.

I would have probably gotten the Performance and added leather and heated seats for about $1000, then worked on the stereo. I would probably have been just as happy.

Don't get me wrong, I like my car. However, if I could have gotten the same deal as I did on the touring, I would have done it.

IMO, the power seats on this car aren't really that big a deal. It only has tilt and forward/back. Even the seat bottom adjustment is still manual.

Question Question for vaGentleman

Looking at your chrome edge strips on the grille. Where did you find them? The only ones I have seen are only 27 inches long.
