Default When the new GTR is out, what does it mean to us 350z owners?

since both engine's platform are similar, will the GTR's appearance give us more aftermarket parts?

It will be interesting to see how many performance parts will be able to be transfered over to the 350Z assuming it will be a VQ. My bet is even if they can be transfered, it will not be cost effective to do so.

the GTR will be a premium sports gt. as such i dont see it having a negative effect on sales- the z is nissan's affordable sports car and is being positioned as such.

if anything i think it will improve Z sales, particularly in the US, as it attracts more attention to the nissan brand. i believe that would in turn increase the number of tuners that cater to nissan cars and improve the tuning scene for the Z. of course, every tuner on earth (and probably more) will have a product line for the GTR.

as far as parts compatibility goes.. its entirely too early to tell, but i doubt it will be very cost effective.

I don't think the GTR appearance will have much if any impact on 350z aftermarket parts. It's a 70k dollar car. So for one thing they are not going to sell in any significant volume. And for two, how many guys who buy one will want to modify it? Try to picture the demographic that can afford this car. By and large MOST of the guys who can afford it will never even once think of trying to make it go faster / look better, etc. You can see how small this market will be.

+1 U won't see them to often. Will be around, but not as much as you think. Kinda of like the Acura Nsx.

Here in SOCAL when you read about the latest supercar in a magazine or online you see two or three on the road within a month.

I am sure we will see *many* GTRs here.

Hell at work our parking lot looks like Car and Driver's top ten and Motor Trend's Sports car of the last 5 years covers.
