Default Z very reassuring at high speeds

I was driving my buddies 02 Corvette Convertible, and when I got it up to 230 - 240 km/hr it felt like the back end was very "loose" and the car seemed to be floating a bit on me. It was very disturbing to say the least. Spend 90K CDN on a car and you would expect a little bit better feel. Sure it goes fast but the feelin at higih speeds just aint there.

So then I got into my 350, opened it up to those same speeds and it was a world of difference the car was glued to the road. It felt the same as going 100, minus the tunnel vision.

Just some thought.........

A. The Corvette convertible is 74k (canadian) not 90.
B. Those speeds on public roads are stupid.
C. Hmm, Z06, 350Z .....

a) Buddy do you have one, NO. With taxes and everything it was 90+, so do your homework.
b) It was a back road in the middle of no where.
c) Id take the 350Z.

Have u even been near a Z06.

That is kind of odd, considering I have seen aerodynamic specs for Corvettes, and even the convertable's rear creates *NO* uplift what so ever, even at high speeds.

I have even gone 160mph in my Camaro which is over 250kph, and it felt plenty solid. (yes it was on a public street, but it was a straight back road with giant farms on eather side, so I was putting no one else at risk).

My friend who owns an 02 Convertable took (first hand) an 01 Convertable (with the top up) around the circle track at the GM prooving grounds, and got up to 150mph before he let off, and he siad it was very solid.

The 350Z is designed aerodynamically quite well, just like the corvette, but neather have a true stabalizing spoiler on the back that provides downforce, so I see no reason why the 350Z would do better at 250kph, than a C5 Corvette with one of the most technologically advanced suspensions on the road.

Not trying to dog on a 350Z, but seriously a Corvette performs better in every category.

Cross-wind maybe? It sounds like the drives were taken at very times, possibly on different roads. Even the same road can have varying wind conditions that could adversly impact the feel if the car. The faster the speed, the greater the impact. If it was different roads, then the comparison can't really be made. Osilations (sp?) in a road can really upset a car's feel, especially at high speeds.
