Default Observation regarding Ebay 350z Auctions

Anyone else notice that almost all the 350z auctions on ebay are ending with winner (High reserve prices).

It would appear that people/dealers postingono ebay feel they can get a lot more than the current ebay market is bearing.

Maybe its just a bad time of year to sell Z's, winter is causing dealers up north to try selling their 350's on ebay to move some cars quickly. You would think that the price would start dropping.

Anyone have any thoughts? When do you think we might start seeing Z's being sold closer to invoice rather than MSRP (it would kill me to pay MSRP-never pay retail !!)l??

Mark

Deals are there if you look. I got one much closer to invoice than list right at the end of the year in the midwest. Had to travel to get it, though.

MannishBoy,

How much did you have to spend on the travel in order to get your Z?

I found the best deal down in Miss, so I may be going on a road trip soon! That is probably a 4 hr drive for me, but if I save a couple thousand it is worth it.

I went to St Louis (under 400 miles), and got a $2614 discount from list, or $891 over invoice.

What St. Louis dealer, if you dont mind. I live an hour from there and was hoping to go talk to some of the dealers. I have called most of them or emailed but talking face to face is much easier. Was your car ordered, or was it on the lot?

Bommarito.

I'm not sure my deal would be doable again (but you might get lucky). I just kind of fell into it. Go over to zcar.com and look in the cars for sale, and they might still have some cars posted. The poster is Todd350Z.

I really wanted a performance, so I had emailed him to see if they had one. He tried to sell me the touring, and offered me a better deal then the $1500 off they'd posted if I took it before the end of the year to get it off of floorplan (and to keep allocation up for summer). It was still more than I'd planned to pay, and there was already some price confusion because of a typo. I told him thanks, but I was going to look around some more.

He then made me the deal I couldn't pass up, and I was heading to St Louis on a bus with a biker named Alabama by my side (Flights were booked, with the ones available taking longer than the bus ride).

Thanks for the info! So far Bommarito has had he best deals, and are still offering the $1500 under MSRP right now.

Good luck. He treated me fairly and honestly, and even took time on Sunday to come in and deliver the car (they are closed on Sunday).

wow... you guys getting it for even retail are lucky. my question would be... when are the Z's going to be retail price. over here in southern cali (orange county particularly)... dealer's have been known to markup 2k-4k. i even called a dealership out in nevada! they too said their markup is 2k, and they'd be hesitant to lower that due to the high demand. ohwell.. looks like i need to do better searching in other areas
