Dealer just offered me $10,000 trade-in for my Z!!!
Don't take it personally, they simply didn't want your car in trade. Dealerships don't want to deal with cars with aftermarket stuff on them, so they low-balled the offer knowing you would walk.
Ran the #'s on Kelly Blue Book for Trade-In Value and it came up with $14,905 for that amount of milleage, but thats based on stock. Problem with mods is your really won't get anything for them on trade-in and if there more of a mod only certain people would like such as your rims and exhaust then that actually hurts you.
You would be better off selling it private and finding the one person who wants it just like you have it and is willing to pay for it. Selling it yourself you should get between 21k-23k

When I traded my 03 Base model Z in on my 05 Roadster, they offered me $20K trade-in (8K miles) and an additional $1K for the optional Track Wheels, Pioneer AVIC-N1, and about $3K in other stereo equipment and a top of the line Viper alarm. I wa slike $1K additional for $5K worth of aftermarket, uhm, no thanks!
The day I traded the Z in, I took the Tracks off, put the 17's back on, and drove it to a local stereo shop to pull and install the OEM stuff back in. I sold the Track Wheels for $1600 shipped, sold the stereo for about $3K and basically made 3K instead of letting the dealer have it for free.
Point is, take your aftermarket stuff off as people posted above me stated.
BTW, I wanted to see what my fully loaded 05 ZR (3K miles) was worth on a trade in for a 06 Lexus IS350.
Dealer offered me $28K and would not budge one damn dime off of MSRP of the Lexus. Hence i am still driving my ZR. BTW, my ZR is stock!

Hey Sith
I sell Nissans' for a living and to be honest that was there way of telling you they didn't want your car. This is the some reasons why you can't trade in turner cars. One, you voided your warranty. Two a dealership would have to spend to much money to prepair it for resale.Three the dealership will automaticly think you drove the hell out of it. Even if they did give you good money for your Z they would have a hard time selling it. I know if I was to see your car on a lot and saw all the mods I would have problems. Your best bet is to sell it on your own or put the stock stuff back and trade it in. Real nice car but in the dealership's eye the car is and I'm sorry to say this not worth the time and money. I hope you get the money that you are looking for.

How do you figure dealerships rip you off. You paid profet on the parts you put on your car. So whats the difference. You pay mark up on evertinhg else why is it a rip off if you pay it on a car. It should be if you can't efford it you don't buy it. I don't think the customer should be able to haggle the price.
thanks for all the comments guys.
Yes i did tell them no way in hell and i walked. I really want a Titan but i'm thinkin about just keeping the car and buying like an older frontier or something.. The only thing i am buying a truck for is to pull a trailer to work... other than that the truck will probably never be disconnected from teh trailer so i'm thinkin just buying something not to expensive and keeping the Z and doing all the things i once planned on doing to it.

The figure doesn't sound THAT unreasonable. You figure it is the winter so they would have a hard time selling a sports car in general.
And on top of that, you have a 4 year old car because there are the soon to be 2007, the 2006, 2005, 2004, and then the 03 Z. What's the typically depreciation on a 4 year old model? Most cars tend to depreciate by 1/2 their value when they hit the 4 year mark.
On top of that, the 2003s are inherently marred by the infamous tire feathering issue which adds to the cost of maintenance. The buyer is not going to absorb these costs, so the seller absorbs the cost on the sale.
Yes, 10k seems low for a Z, but when you add those factors together, it's not totally unreasonable.
What did you expect for a HIGH VOLUME car?
