Default Need a little advice about exactly how to set shift indicator

It's hard for me to do this precisely because I am usually not watching the tach when I'm going at WOT.

I react to when the shift light starts blinking, not when it becomes solid.

I want the shift light to START blinking about 300RPM before redline, so I can react and shift properly. What should I set it at?

Thanks guys.

The shift light will blink 500 rpm before what you have it set for.

see when it starts blinking in relation to turning red at low rpm, then do the math and apply to the redline. If it starts blinking at 1k when you have it set to 1500 then it is 500, I don't know the number but come on how hard is it to figure out.

LOL you're right lax, it's easy but I was feeling lazy.

So redline is 6600, -300 is 6300, +500 is 6800.

Got it, thanks. :P

I Just learned how to drive stick and everyone tells me to not let the rpm go over 3.5-4.0, so i usually shift up when its just about 3,200. is this what i should be doing? Please someone explain to me. thanks.

If you just started driving you dont need to go over 4K RPMs.

mine is set at 4500, even though i shift at 5-6 even redline sumtimes. i just like that red light =) but if you want it to BLINK at 3000 then set it at 3500. if u want it at 4200 then set it at 4700, etc. if you want to turn the red light off set it above 7400
