Well, I just want to say for the record that everybody on here that lives in the States doesn't realize how lucky they are. I'm hearing people talk about paying $33k US for an 06 350Z...$24k for an 03. Well lets just say us Canadians aren't as lucky. Despite being only an hour or so from the border to Washington, a new 06 350Z up here will run you over $46k Canadian ($40k US) before tax and over $45k US with tax. If you're a car enthusiast it sure doesn't pay to be Canadian....even worse if you love the 350Z.

Oh man....not only do we pay $10k+ more than you to get one here but we don't have half the options either. Its basically just performance or roadster, then you have a choice of options like sound system, navigation etc, sure but we don't have the packages here like Base, performance, enthusiast, touring etc...now if only our dollar could reach par with the US...then I'd just hop the border and buy a car, pay all the fees and taxes to bring it back and still save thousands.

The Z's here up in Canada are Expensive.

As a reference, the MSRP of a 2006 350Z GT Coupe with Brembo Brakes and Rays wheels is about the same price as a 2006 Honda S2000.

However, 350Z here in Canada is very rare and it's even more rare during the winter months.

Can't you buy in the U.S., like in New York or Washington State and take back to Canada? I'm sure you'd pay taxes, but aren't the safety standards pretty close?

I can vouch for that. In Thailand, the Z cost over $100K! (No, that's not in baht - that's $100,000 USD!!!)

Yeah I could drive down to south of the border and buy one but at the moment its not quite worth it. I'd pay US taxes when I purchased it then 14% tax when I imported it to B.C which is a tax on top of the US tax I already paid, then there are some importation fees as well. And our dollar is currently around $1.14 for every US dollar so I'd be losing there as well. If we ever reach par with the US dollar it would be worth it, but until that time I'm stuck paying huge prices 100 miles away from people paying $10k less.

soooo true.....
actually the G35 coupes over there are way more popular than the Z and way more expensive...used M3s are in high demand and expect to pay 85k$ or more for a good one.

Yeah it is possible to find some decent deals here, relatively speaking in comparison to other Canadian prices anyway. The big problem here is also the lack of selection. I can find more 350Z's on www.autotrader.com within a couple hundred mile radius of Seattle than I can find in all of western Canada. I guess we just suffer from having 1/10th the population...meaning 1/10th the selection as well. Ah well, I've gotta stop complaining and just hurry up and buy one. Maybe if I do it quickly it won't hurt so much, kinda like pulling off a band aid or jumping into a cold lake.

smokes are cheaper too, every canadian i know smokes an ungodly amount when they come here, but don't smoke at home. I bet the sports teams hate it more, they make most of their money in CD but pay salaries in USD, now that sucks.
