If you are asking a broad question about spending $10,000 to beat who-knows-what, I don't think that you are serious.

a good TT with tune would put you around $10k. A SC might be a little below that.

You could always get the basic bolts ons and some N2O for kicks....

whatever you drive, there will be someone with a quicker car, just accept it.
As for people trying to race you, just ignore them, i never race anyone, who cares!

Go buy a Bugatti Veyron. Top speed around 250mph and 1001hp. Teach those riced out Hondas a lesson.

You should boost the Z man, turbonetics Single kit I would say... regardless, if you are spending 10k just to race ricers, I wouldn't recommend it, you can beat them without spending a penny.

I don't know how many of you live in Miami, but rice is an option down here, and many choose to go that way, it sucks pretty bad... There are only maybe 1 or 2 shops out of 100+ that don't sell rice, every other place you walk into is wrapped in neons and chrome 20's...

Let me see, Ted at Scott Performance quoted me around $10k for a complete APS TT install and tune (actually $10,500). So if you have $10k and are serious, you should have no problem getting your fast Z faster. Although like someone already stated, someone will always be faster or HAVE MORE $$. Good Luck.

Please note: To ALL younger drivers. No matter what you have and how fast it is. If the person driving in the other car is a better driver than you, you will probably lose (with a few exceptions of course). So please dont waste the money until you learn how to properly drive. Take the money instead and take a performance driving class. Trust me. Its worth it.

10 G's.?? go buy a civic hatch and rice it out!!!

j/p

im spending around 8500 for a full greddy kit insatlled and tuned. Check into weather where you live (sorry i didn't look to see where you live) but im in WA state and a greddy kit is best for here, alot of people will argue with me, but im gonna say it anyway. Cali is probably the most versitile (spelling) place for a turbo or SC kit, due to tuning. WA sucks because it has a HUGE weather curve, and your car will always be off-tune. im NOT even joking this is a true story... i woke up 1 morning and it was freezing cold...i got to school and it was snowing... lunch time... it was sunny out with somehat clear skies (you could see a decent amount of blue) when i got off school it was raining.. and when i got home i watched a movie... when i got up for a drink, it was snowing again... CRAZY WEATHER!!! (im sure im going to get FLAMMMMMED so i'll put my flame suit on!!) GL with whatever you choose.

hey man, that all makes sense, but can't you just get a UTEC system and have multiple maps set up for multiple weather conditions? that way, it wouldn't matter what the weather is outside...

yeah you cant however i have HEARD that it still remains "untuned" its just a "setting" its better then nothing, but wont have it tuned as well as getting the right kit. plus thats just extra money, haha. ive read up on it a little, i might concider it ALONG with my TT kit, greddy was the best choice for the state of WA. the shop is good friends with the creator of greddy so the opinion might be somewhat biased

Not flaming anybody, just giving my opinion.

The only time the weather really affects your tune is when driving spirited in different weather conditions than you tuned in. For example if you tuned your car in 90 degree fahrenheit weather, and then winter comes and its only like 20 degrees fahrenheit. Then you're tune would be a little off, in that dramatic temperature change. Down here in Miami it never gets below 50 degrees fahrenheit, so my tune always stays the same.

Regarding snow and rain, I don't think anybody would be boosting in snow or in rain. When you stay out of boost you're pretty much like a N/A car, but once you hit boost, thats when everything changes. I've driven my car in the rain plenty of times, and have never had any problems whatsoever.

To the original poster's question. For $10K you could get pretty much any TT installed. I myself would recommend the Greddy TT ultimate package from Sharif @ Forged Internals. You can either get that package from him, or just get the Greddy TT with FMIC and get the other extras (BOV, Boost controller, fuel return system, better ems, and so on) seperately. But its much easier to just get his package. That will cost you a little less than $10K installed and tuned, and you can safely have a 450rwhp beast with that.

true. however humidity as well as evevation have a huge impact as well. it just depends on your terrain as well as what you stated. not a huge difference... just extra precautions. as for the 10 grand question.... im tryin to help out by posting but you dont seem serious, im thinking that this question was asked so that you can have bragging rights or theoretical situations to compare to our friends cars... good luck though ("search")
