Alright this is the second thread I have seen on this. Sorry for being a tool, someone help me out, I got the roadster, I know where the TCS button is. What is VDC, how do I get rid of it, what does it do, and do I need it. Will it make my roadster faster?

KEwl, when is your first time travel schedualed now that the full power of the Z have been unleashed? Bring me a winning lotery ticket please...

LSRoadster - What trim level your car? Does your button say TCS or VDC ?

So what are your impressions of it?

Did you notice an orange wire in the harness (I can't see the pics at work)? That's supposed to be the one you can install a switch inline with to shut down or enable the system at will without having to tear into your console every time.

If your button says TCS, you don't have VDC and this doesn't apply to you.

I have a roadster, I really dont know the level, it just says TCS on the button, when I push it an orange light comes on under the tach that says TCS off.

You don't have VDC then. The car doesn't correct it's direction based on the steering angle (like VDC equiped cars do).

Your TCS will prevent/limit wheels spin under brutal acceleration (misshift, bad downshift, drop clutch or plain old too-much-gas). It will not prevent the car from fish-tailling into the scenery.

Turn it off to do burn outs or to take off in very slippery conditions.

Does your brake lights still work along with ABS and what about the SLIP light. Do all the other systems function properly and just VDC is off?

yeah steering is much lighter... how light?
hmmm perfect for a Z car but still not as nimble around like an s2000...

throttle response not much difference from VDC off (normal driving and some sliding around lol) but i dont suffer from the good ole VDC shifting jam up into 2nd when u just lose power somehow and synchros kicking in...

over all i think it makes u a SAFER driver because u r aware that u dont have any safety nets ...

this is the VQ35DE and the spirit of the Z car unleashed!

lol... yeah my key chain contains ... house keys, car key and garage key...

Thanks for posting this. I have been wanting to do it for a while. I am by no means a "handy man" - will I have a hard time getting the console back together 100% correct? I cannot stand any imperfections in my car (especially a car as new as ours)... ie. parts inside car not lining up flush and correct as they should.

Now I just need someone to post how to make a switch to completely kill or turn back on VCD without having to go into the console everytime... volunteers?

Thanks,
Justin
