I just wanted to mention that other than maybe the quality of the filter there is no real quaranty that the work will be any better than a lube joint. I took my old Sentra SE-R into the dealer in the mid-90's for the 60k scheduled maintenance and oil filter change and after dumping $400 and driving around for 250 miles I found that the f*****s didn't refill the oil in the car. I will say this, previously I'd been using Castrol-GTX in the engine doing it myself. The car had a 7.5k redline and after the tune-up believe me, I was hitting redline frequently over those 250 miles. If you remember those old Castrol commercials where they drained the engines and ran them dry and the Castrol motor held up.......believe it. The engine held up to at least 100k miles with no ill after affects until I traded it in.

I have the dealer do all the work...records, warranty, and repair bulletins. No arguments. Dealer takes me to work...round trip. Make friends with them...it pays off.

Jiffy lube left the filler cap off my girl's mazda 6 last week. I won't explain the horrifying details of this story except they ended up paying a Mazda dealer to professionally clean the engine. Everyone I know that has tried them has gotten f*cked.

DIY or dealer.

Took mine to a Jiffy Lube recently and the oil change was fine, but they inflated three of my tires to 51 PSI, and left the right front alone ... had I not had the tire pressure sensors, I would have never known (and makes me wonder about what they used to do with my tires in previous cars!) ...

Rhino Ramps work? Last time I tried those, my Z wouldn't clear it.

JL spilled oil all over my plastic cover. It didn't drip on anything, but I noticed it when I changed the sway bar.

(I would still trust them a lot more than the dealers around here.)

One stupid thing though was that they offered to rotate my tires, and me being really tired at the time said "sure." Then I had to go back out and tell them to forget it because they're directional!
