Question towing 350Z

I have an RV - I know, I used to hate them too. But this one is a great ride (40', 1200 hp). I need to buy a car to tow behind it, and to use when I get to all to good places I'm going to. I researched all the cars whose manufacturers say they can be towed with all four wheels on the ground (a "toad"). There aren't very many and most are 4x4s with transfer cases. Oddly enough, Nissan says the 350Z with the 6 speed manual can be so towed! I though this (maybe a convertible) would be a great car to use to see the sights (national parks, autumn in Vermont, etc.) My question: is there anyone who has towed one, or knows someone who has towed one?

I think every car that has manual transmission can be towed when they put in the "neutral" position...

Even though the manual transmission is in neutral, parts of the drivetrain, including parts of the transmission, may turn when the wheels turn, and if they are not lubricated (because the engine is not running), they can be damaged. Motorhome magazine lists the cars and trucks whose manufacturers say they can be towed four down, and most cars with manual transmissions are not on the list.

No joke. Why on Earth would you want to tow a car like the Z on it's wheels? Tires have short enough tread life as it is; you wanna wear them out not even driving the car? And how the heck would you attach the towing apparatus to it without butchering the car?

A 350Z doesn't deserve the disrespect of being towed behind a big RV...

Get an enclosed trailer, or at least a flat trailer and car cover...please!

Looking at the Nissanhelp.com website, it does mention that manual transmission 350z can be towed, BUT NOT GOING BACKWARDS, only forwards.

Something to be aware of.

Never try to tow a car on an open trailer with a car cover on it. It'll shred and do a major number on your paint.

Thanks for the responses. A know a trailer would be better for the car, but ... (1) trailers are a problem when you get to a campground (pads are big enough for the rig, but not for it and a trailer) and (2) there are shields you can buy that prevent dirt, rocks, etc., thrown by the RV from getting to the car (in that sense, it is more protected than your car is when it's driving down the highway). Tire wear is an issue. Most popular tows are jeeps and saturns, but I would like to have something a little more fun to drive when I get to where I'm going.

You guys are tough - if you see me on the road with the Z in tow, you'll probably report me to the Z police, or the SPCZ ... Would it be OK to use a G35 instead? Seriously, I appreciate the advice, will give it careful thought.
