Default First time in light snow...

....and wow did it royally suck. Yes i know this car is not meant for any snow, but i just got the car two days ago and nice weather. This morning/afternoon was perfect, then when i left work at 6p and got almost home i hit a stretch of road that was unsalted/unplowed. i spun out twice. Ill pay more attention to the news tonight to see if chicago is getting more snow. Guess it'll be the cavalier tomorrow.

I made the mistake of taking the Z today. On the way to the office, I heard a weatherman on the radio predicting a chance of flurries today and tomorrow. It had me nervously watching the sky all afternoon. The Z is snug in the garage now, and I guess I'll take the VW 4Motion tomorrow, just in case.

It's snowing here in Knoxville, a somewhat rare occasion.

I have driven a 280zx from 1982 to 1994 and a 300zx from 1994 to 2003, both as my daily drivers, all year long up here in Edmonton, Alberta. This included a number of winter highway trips, including ski-trips into the rockies.

These cars are definitely tricky in the snow, but winter tires on all fours make all the difference in the world - that together with a very steady foot on the gas and clutch.

That being said my 2005 350ZR is in safe heated storage for this winter as I drive my Murano for the winter - and yes I have put winter tires on the Murano. So, if you are going to drive in winter conditions I would highly recommend winter tires on all 4.
