Default Stuttering when launching

Hey, I might be a little paranoid about my Z but I'm noticing when I launch the car from a stop it makes a sort of stuttering/Thudding sound from under the car as it starts to go forward and sometimes will bog. Anyone ever get this/ I just had my 3rd tranny and clutch put in the car a couple of weeks ago. It just seems I'm not getting a smooth launch. I'm talking about normal launches from lights @ around 1-2k Rpm. I also noticed my car BUZZes really loud at high speed/high RPMs especially with the window up. Anyone have this? I love this car but I always think something is wrong with it!

Cant help you with the buzzing thing, because Ive never experienced it.The shudder thing your talking about, can you feel the car shaking, or just the clutch pedal. I have an 06 and sometimes I can feel the car shudder, it doesnt engange very smoothly. Im guessing its normal though, not really worried about it, because it did it since day one. Anyone else have this?

Diagnosing transmission problems without driving the car is next to impossible. You know when the transmission works, and when it does not.

If the transmission is not working properly, then it may be time for a Lemon Law attorney.

If you're trying to spin the wheels at launch, the "stuttering" or hopping is due to soft stock suspension. Firmer bushings (Nismo or others) should prevent that.

Thanks for the input everyone. It actually stutters or shudders or whatever you want to call it as I'm gassing it and letting out the clutch. I can feel vibration and hear it. I'm not trying to spin the wheels, just taking off quickly and the wheels are not spinning. It's not for lack of manual tranny experience because I've driven almost all manuals and never had to replace a clutch. I guess I will just bring it back to Nissan, Hell, I'm there every month anyway with this car. How many replacements till I can lemon it?? 3? I'm on my second replacement, 3rd tranny total. Still love the car flaws and all.

Your kinda describing what goes on when VDC kicks in. Mine does something similar almost any time I go from a complete stop (lots of sand on the road from the snow). Turn it off, if you haven't already and see how it feels.

It could be a hot spot on the flywheel, oil on the disc, bad throwout bearing, Bad input shaft bearing, etc....

Take it back to them. Make sure you make the same complaint each time.
Transmission problem - Doesn't work properly: then state problem XXXXXX.
After three times of it in that way, even it is different problems in the tranny.
It's is still a car with a transmission problem that doesn't work ..... then (If you want) you can lemon it out. They will replace the whole darn driveline before they do that if they are smart.

This is not your problem make it theirs!

I'm having the same problem when I try to start my car in a stop, but my car has 45000 already, I've taken this problem to the dealer for about 5-6 times when the car only has 4000 miles. I'm still have the same problem, with grinding into 2nd gear lately. Can I get it lemon? Since I already have 45000 on my car already.

doreamon50 - Find all your receipts from the when you took the car in for the complaint.
Call a lawyer see what he can do. I think you are still in drivetrain warantee so a call from your lawyer to the dealer might be all it takes. If not, he might be able to get it bought back by NISSAN. At 45K miles it might be tough. I also think the three times have to be for the same problem in the first year. I really do not know. I think I read that somewhere.

Or, you could .....

You could try one more time. You should be still under drivetrain warantee. 4year/50K I think.
You should get your car into the dealer. While they are fixing the transmission ask them about the condition of the clutch. Then ask them if you pay for the parts if they will install the new clutch while they have the transmission out. Be aware that their stock clutch will cost a bunch more than a good aftermarket clutch. Most of the time they will install it free of charge since the transmission has to come out anyways. It's a 10 min job at that point.

You can ask them if you buy a clutch and bring it to them if they will install it. That way you can upgrade for less. Some dealers will .... some won't and will only install NISSAN OEM parts.

Feel free to PM me for further help. I live over the hill from you and know of a honest transmission shop that you can have it checked out at if that is your wishes. Or, just a phone call can help a lot more than I can online.

I have been though this a bunch of times. I know it can be frustrating.

Best of luck ...... AJ

If this is what these guys are experiencing ... it's gonna be hard to tell without driving the car to see if it is th VLSD or bad VDC system causing the problem. The other possiblity is wheel hop if he isn't launching it just right.
The OP is talking about launching. doreamon50 is talking about everyday driving I think.

doreamon50 - Yeah, your sound like a throw out bearing or oil on the disc problem. Actually, a lot easier to fix than a VDC / Traction control problem IMO.
