Default How do you guys feel after you "punch" it?

I just experienced what the "Z" is about after a few months. I blasted it a bunch of times on the freeway to experiment and this this is a beast. But as soon as I get home and put her in the garage i feel terrible that, knowing this car is apart of me, and that I abused it. For the moment being, when i'm out there and punch it it feels good..but for some reason later on i regret it..but yet do it again once im on the road
I'm so afriad that I don't go near past 5k RPM...4.5K seems harsh...if i keep doing this is this going to do some damage in the long run?

I always see these guys who own exotic cars driving down the street or on the freeway doing like WELL below the speed limit...i've tried this, and all i get is honking accompanied by dirty looks...

So what's your guys' take? haha i bet all've you feel GREAT when/during/and after you punch it huh? lol

I will admit to feeling alittle bad after tracking her.

However, I just spend the next 7 hours detailing her completely while wispering : ''I'm sorry babe, you wont have to do that for another week, I promiss, I wont hit any cones next time!''

LOL! AHHH id go for a drive if it wasn't RAINING SO HARD

... i thought the stalion should want to play rough and run over stuff and trample innocent orange cones to oblivion?

well at least my stalion is stud enough that he begs for more after a couple fast whip laps around the obstacle course lol

wow i just had that thought yesterday when I redlined it up the hill just before I turned into my garage and parked it. I heard all of the pinging noises and basically the sound of my car cooling off. But i started to feel guilty for doing that to my car.

Other than the post about getting sleepy, this thread is just silly. Well OK, that was silly too, but come on, the car was built to be driven, pretty hard too. Enjoy it without guilt, that's why you bought it I hope.

edit to add: I guess I could answer the original "how do you feel after you punch it" question. I feel all smiley when I'm done, and maybe a bit sad that I'm done for now.

You are babying the car. The redline of 6600RPM or 7000+ (rev-up motor) is nothing. The car can easily handle redline for extended periods of time.

Get over it and have fun

As long as I warm it up well and keep it well taken care of I don't feel bad. But I also have a lot of friends that say "Why do you always short shift so much?" So maybe I drive like an old man most of the time, .

Drive it hard, don't grind the gears and burn out the clutch, and you'll be ok.

Just give it the proper maintenance and it will be fine.

You can dog out almost any car, as long as you take proper care of it, you'll be ok.

in reality... i feel fine beating the hell out of my cars... that is what they are meant for. as long as i dont hear any funny sounds as i do it, i feel fine. and then when i do and something lets go, then i just get pissed because i would have to fix it again

Like Fletch, as long as the engine is at normal operating temperatures before you go mashing the pedal.
