Default 06 base vs 06 enthusiast

I know im reiterating information but just make sure i have it right:

Enthusiast has this over the Base model
Traction Control System, viscous limited-slip rear differential, cruise control, illuminated steering wheel audio controls, auto-dimming rearview mirror and aluminum pedals

Base : MSRP $27,650 INVOICE $25,860
Enthusiast : MSRP 29,350 INVOCE $27,144

So for for roughly 2k you get the features listed above which sounds like a good deal, however i plan on adding leather to the vehicle (through the dealer but aftermarket) and i wanted to try and keep the car below 30k OTD. what are your guys opinons? Im not much of a "experianced" driver i would think to ever really use the traction control and limited-slip rear differntial. Cruis control , steerting wheel w/ audio controls, auto dimming mirror and aluminum pedals dont seem all that necessary... bascially the local dealership has an 06 base MT la mans sunset which is the color i want but i was originally looking for an enthusiast .. since they dont have one now or in shipment i obviously have to wait a long while and obviously pay more... so now im on the fence about the base....

Negotiate the hell out of the enthusiast. For the extra amount you do get a lot more.
LSD = good
Cruise Control = I never use it
TCS = People always turn it off, but it's nice to have the option of having it on/off
Audio Controls = nice plus
Auto-dimming = same here
Aluminum pedals = $80

So basically, the reason I would choose the enthusiast over the base would be the TCS and the LSD.

haha , yeah i know! actually to tell you the truth i put down a deposit on one back when i first registered but ended up not getting it because for one i decided to buy a house instead (better investment) and two my accord got out of the shop and was working like a champ. Two years later my accord has 125k miles on it and its starting to require alot of maintinance.. and...getting a nice return on taxes after paying mortgage payments for a year helps alot as well actually glad i waited since the 06 seems to be alot better than the older ones as far as the bump in HP and standard features (HID). Hopefully ill be in one soon!

I'd say go with the base. considering the weather where you live, I doubt the TCS/LSD would ever benefit you too much unless you plan on racing/tracking the car. in which case you would be better off getting an aftermarket LSD which would cost you less than the difference you'll pay for the enthusiast.

the 06 does seem to have a lot of the bugs worked out, however that "bump in HP" doesn't really mean anything in terms of stock performance over any previous model year.

good luck. hope you get one soon.

I went with an 06 Enthusiast just because I really liked the extra goodies.
